‘Supacell’ Season 2 Adds New Cast With Production Now Underway

Seriously, it’s one of those rare gems with a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. And the best news? They’re gearing up for the second season! They’ve added some fantastic new faces to the cast – I’m talking actors from Stranger Things and His Dark Materials – and a really talented director is joining the team. The series, created and written by Rapman (Andrew Onwubolu), premiered in 2024 and boasts a talented British cast. Featured actors include Tosin Cole (known for Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens and Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie), Adelayo Adedayo (The Responder), Josh Tedeku (Boarders, A Town Called Malice), Nadine Mills (The Strangers), Eric Kofi-Abrefa (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), Calvin Demba (Kingsman: The Golden Circle), Ghetts, Digga D (Thir13en Ghosts), and Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes, The World’s End).

This show offers a fresh take on the superhero genre, set in South London and focusing on a group of ordinary Black people who unexpectedly gain superpowers. After receiving critical acclaim and ending on a dramatic cliffhanger, fans have been eagerly awaiting the next season. Now, there’s finally some good news about its progress.

Filming is underway in London for Season 2 of Supacell, and the show has added some new cast members, including Frank Bourke (His Dark Materials, Toxic Town), Tiana Simone (Stranger Things: The First Shadow), Richard Keep (FBI: International), and Ed Allenby (Johnny Twoshoes), according to What’s on Netflix. This season will also feature Koby Adom, the director known for his work on Top Boy and Noughts + Crosses, joining the show’s creator, Rapman, as a director. Unfortunately, there’s no confirmed release date for Season 2 yet.
