Recent comments from the creators of the upcoming “Daredevil: Born Again” series have sparked questions about Spider-Man, especially considering the new Anti-Vigilante Task Force led by Wilson Fisk. The show’s executive producer has now clarified how Spider-Man fits into the picture with this task force.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 EP reveals Spider-Man’s status against AVTF
With Daredevil: Born Again heading into its second season, the growing storyline about a task force against vigilantes has people wondering how it might affect Spider-Man. While Spider-Man is closely tied to New York City, the show’s creators haven’t yet confirmed how involved he’ll be in this particular plot.
In a recent interview with ScreenRant, the creators of the show, Dario Scardapane and Sana Amanat, discussed rumors about whether Wilson Fisk is targeting Spider-Man. Amanat clarified that Spider-Man isn’t currently part of the story they’re developing, saying, “While it would be cool if he was, that’s not the direction we’re taking the story.”
The executive producer admitted she doesn’t know what’s happening with the Spider-Man: Brand New Day storyline. She said she hasn’t seen any of the story details. Another producer, Scardapane, confirmed that the television team isn’t kept informed about Spider-Man’s plot.
Even with multiple projects happening, Marvel Studios is still working to keep everything connected. Brad Winderbaum, who oversees streaming, TV, and animation, told Entertainment Weekly that they’re constantly talking to the team making ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ to make sure the stories fit together. He explained they want to avoid spoilers, but confirmed that the show exists within the same universe and is considered important to the larger Marvel narrative.
The second season of Daredevil: Born Again will start streaming on March 24th, and the movie Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in theaters on July 31st.
