Mel B shared a cheeky photo in a thong bikini and playfully told critics ‘kiss my butt’ after news broke that the planned 30th anniversary tour for the Spice Girls has been cancelled.
The 50-year-old singer announced on Instagram that she was disconnecting from the drama, shortly before it was revealed that plans for the group’s reunion had fallen through due to disagreements.

Recent reports indicate the group failed to reach an agreement about a reunion. This news comes weeks after plans for a Netflix anniversary project were reportedly scrapped. Sources say Geri was hesitant about participating.
Even before the news about the show being cancelled was public, Mel B, also known as Scary Spice, seemed to be hinting at the changes in a social media post. She shared a photo of herself on a tropical beach wearing a revealing animal-print bikini, suggesting she was already aware of what was happening.
She wrote in her social media post, ‘It’s Monday and I’m choosing to ignore the negativity… so if that’s what you’re offering, you can disregard it.’
On Tuesday, she also shared a throwback photo of the group on her Instagram Story, set to their song “Never Give Up On The Good Times.” This suggests she still hopes they might reunite in the future.
Mel C has confirmed that a Spice Girls reunion isn’t currently happening. She told The Smallzy Show that while the group stays in touch and would like to collaborate again someday, there are no plans in motion right now.

Although Mel B mentioned in January that the Spice Girls were discussing a 30th anniversary celebration, recent reports indicate those plans are no longer moving forward.
So far only a collectible coin from the Royal Mint has been announced to mark the anniversary.

Mel B has hinted at a possible Spice Girls reunion. She recently expressed her interest in getting the band back together and seemed to acknowledge fan excitement about it by liking a comment on social media discussing the idea.
As the women sang together, Victoria’s son Cruz played guitar. His girlfriend, Jackie Apostel, age 30, was seated at the table, and the family’s chefs observed from the kitchen behind glass doors.
Victoria seems to be suggesting she might join the band, as she recently shared a video of herself singing an acoustic version of one of their popular songs.
Mel C recently discussed the possibility of a Spice Girls reunion during an appearance on Good Morning America, where she was promoting her ninth album, Sweat.
Hoping for the best, she said she’s still positive about the future. Next year will be their thirtieth anniversary. They toured in 2019, playing some amazing shows in UK stadiums, and it was a fantastic experience.
We’re incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved and it’s amazing to see new generations discovering and loving the Spice Girls. I’d really love to perform with the other girls again.

Mel also confessed she still dreams of another Spice Girls reunion, and hopes Victoria will be part of it this time.
She described being a Spice Girl again as an incredible experience. She felt that because so much time had passed, they were all fully engaged and truly understood how much their group meant to their fans.
It was a truly wonderful experience. We were finally able to relax and savor every moment. It makes me emotional just thinking about how much I’d like to repeat it.
In 2024, it was reported that Geri blocked a major television deal that would have earned each of the five group members £1 million.
According to sources, a major falling out between Geri and Mel B created so much tension within the band that they struggled to find a manager who could effectively help them get things done.
The conflict started in 2019 when Mel revealed on Piers Morgan’s talk show that she and Geri had a brief romantic relationship during the band’s popular years in the 1990s.
Geri insisted the affair never happened, and Mel was accused of inventing it to boost sales of her memoir, ‘Brutally Honest’.
Victoria had often said she wouldn’t rejoin the band, emphasizing her commitment to her fashion work and stating that her time with the Spice Girls was a relatively short chapter in her life.
In an interview with Andy Cohen on Sirius XM last October, she revealed that she struggled with self-confidence before joining the Spice Girls, and that the group helped her believe in herself.
While I enjoy performing on stage, I’ve realized it’s not what I want to focus on long-term.
She joked that she wasn’t even sure she could sing anymore, admitting she’d never been a phenomenal singer to begin with. While the idea of performing was appealing, she knew a world tour was out of the question – she has a job to consider.
‘How good would the Spice Girls be at the Sphere? I love the idea of it.’
Victoria’s most recent performance with the band was at the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony. Before that, she toured the world with them in 2007 and 2008.
Geri left the band in 1998 in the middle of their world tour and on Mel B’s birthday.
When Geri left the band, it made international news, and the group eventually stopped performing for two years.

It was insane – I was totally obsessed from the very first listen and I knew they were going to be huge!
The girl group topped the UK charts nine times and released two albums that reached number one. After Geri left the group, she began a successful solo career, achieving four number one singles in the UK.
