Bandai Namco has announced that it will be shutting down its popular action RPG, My Hero ULTRA IMPACT, on May 18, 2026. The game originally launched in Japan in May 2021 and became available worldwide in 2022. The service will end approximately five years after its initial release.
An abrupt goodbye for a beloved game with a solid fanbase
My Hero ULTRA IMPACT is an action role-playing game inspired by the popular anime, My Hero Academia. Players create teams of three heroes and compete in 3v3 battles, utilizing each character’s unique abilities (quirks) and powerful Plus Ultra Moves. Between battles, you can also design and customize your hero headquarters and invite characters to visit.
Thank you for playing MY HERO ULTRA IMPACT. We’re announcing that the game’s service will end on May 18, 2026 (JST). We truly appreciate all your support over the years. Please see the in-game notices for more information.

The My Hero ULTRA IMPACT team recently announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the game will be shutting down on May 18, 2026. They expressed gratitude to players, saying, “Thank you for always playing My Hero Academia ULTRA IMPACT.” However, the team didn’t share the specific reasons for this decision.
Enjoy your last moments with a generous Finale Campaign
After the announcement, the game released the Finale Campaign, giving players daily free Recruits. They can also revisit old event stories and unlock new characters, such as fantasy Eijiro Kirishima. Players can continue using their existing items and Hero Gems until the game’s end of service, but new in-game purchases are no longer available.
Fans around the world, and especially in Japan, are very upset by this unexpected announcement. Many are asking for the ability to continue accessing their accounts even after the game shuts down. It’s confusing for a lot of people because the game is still popular, and many are concerned about getting their money back. As someone who enjoys the anime this game is based on, I understand why everyone is so disappointed.
