War breaks out between fans and haters of The Kyle & Jackie O Show as Kyle Sandilands’ $100million KIIS FM contract is terminated

A heated debate is happening online after Kyle Sandilands was let go from KIIS FM, with fans and critics of The Kyle & Jackie O Show taking opposing sides.

News of the radio station ARN firing the controversial host has sparked a heated debate online, with supporters and critics arguing about whether he should be given another chance on the air.

Some people are pleased with the outcome, feeling that Kyle Sandilands is finally facing consequences for his many years of making shocking statements on the radio.

‘Woohoo, crack out the champagne,’ sniped one critic.

‘Best news all day,’ a second added.

Someone else added, ‘He didn’t deserve any better,’ while another commenter said it was long overdue, stating, ‘They should have fired him a long time ago.’

Fans of the popular radio personality weren’t worried about him being let go, believing he’d quickly return even stronger.

‘He will be back before long. Can’t wait to have him back on the air,’ one supporter wrote.

‘He’s probably already got a contract on one of the talk radio stations,’ another suggested.

‘We stand with you Kyle,’ another chimed in and someone else wrote: ‘He will win… always does.’

News comes after the Australian Radio Network (ARN) unexpectedly ended Kyle Sandilands’ contract with KIIS FM. This decision followed a heated on-air argument between Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.

In a surprising announcement to the Daily Mail on Wednesday, the 54-year-old stated he is unhappy with how things ended at the network and doesn’t believe it should have happened.

He also confirmed the matter will now be in the hands of his lawyers.

‘ARN has just announced they’ve terminated my contract,’ he said.

‘I don’t accept it.’

Sandilands continued: ‘My lawyers told them last week this would be invalid. And guess what? It is.

Here’s what really happened: Jackie and I had a disagreement on the air, like we’ve had many times over the past 25 years. But ARN overreacted and tried to make a big deal out of it.

Jackie was fired, and I was suspended. I wasn’t even allowed to contact her or anyone else involved with the show. The frustrating part is, after making it impossible to continue, they blamed me for the show falling apart and then fired me!

Sandilands added he had apologised to Henderson the night after their on-air clash last month.

I apologized to Jackie after our argument, and I was sincere then, and I still am. However, that doesn’t change the fact that I won’t accept being away from the people I’ve talked to every morning for the past 25 years, he explained.

Before my suspension, ARN told me they would take care of the situation, and I agreed. Since then, I’ve done everything they requested, repeatedly asking to be reinstated and offering to work with anyone they assigned. But every time, the answer was no. It became clear they weren’t trying to resolve the issue; they seemed to be looking for a way to break the year-long contract they had with me, and they quickly pursued that option.

ARN understood exactly what they were getting when they agreed to work with me. We’ve had a long relationship – over ten years – so they were familiar with my process and the quality of my work. They were willing to invest because I consistently deliver results.

Consistently top-rated, delivering hundreds of millions in revenue for the company year after year. I’ve always fulfilled my commitments and held up my part of the deal.

I’m trying to understand why ARN would rather break the agreement and deal with the resulting legal issues than simply pay me to do the work I’m skilled at. That part just doesn’t seem logical.

My current contract runs until 2034, and it gives me certain rights. Unfortunately, ARN hasn’t fulfilled their obligations under that contract, so I’ve asked my lawyers to handle the situation.

Look, those of you who’ve been watching every morning – honestly, you’re the only reason I’ve been doing this for 25 years. It wasn’t my choice to step down, and you didn’t get a vote either. But my legal team is already involved, and believe me, this isn’t over. Not even close.

This follows Sandilands’ disappointment after he hoped to return to KIIS FM following a surprising interview that happened late at night.

ARN had until Tuesday night to determine if the radio host would return after his two-week suspension. The host stated he plans to be back on air tomorrow morning, assuming he doesn’t receive notification to the contrary.

Mike Etheridge, known on air as Mike E, continued to help out on the Kyle & Jackie O breakfast show Wednesday, working with the team including newsreader Brooklyn Ross, Pete Deppeler (the show’s intern), and the producers.

Last month, ARN ended Henderson’s $100 million contract after she informed company leaders she could no longer work with Kyle Sandilands. This decision followed Sandilands’ critical on-air remarks, which had visibly upset her.

ARN sent Sandilands a written notice explaining they believe his actions on the February 20th show were a serious violation of the agreement between ARN and Quasar Media.
