Timothee Chalamet SKIPS Dune: Part Three trailer launch filled with his co-stars two days after Oscars humiliation

Timothée Chalamet didn’t attend the Los Angeles premiere event for his upcoming film, Dune: Part Three, on Tuesday. This came just two days after he faced criticism and was seemingly overlooked at the Academy Awards.

At 30 years old, he was considered a strong contender for Best Actor for his role in “Marty Supreme.” The film, directed by Josh Safdie, is based on the true story of a ping-pong player in 1950s New York.

His tendency to come across as arrogant in interviews ultimately turned the public against him. The Daily Mail reported, with exclusive sources, that a movement to prevent him from winning an Academy Award was gaining momentum.

Timothée Chalamet, coming from a family with a background in ballet – his mother and sister both trained in it – stirred up controversy by saying that opera and ballet aren’t widely popular or interesting to most people.

The Oscars were a tough night for Timothée Chalamet. He faced a lot of online ridicule for a previous comment and ultimately didn’t win Best Actor, with Michael B. Jordan taking home the award for his performance in ‘Sinners’.

For the trailer release of Dune: Part Three, many of Timothée Chalamet’s co-stars – like Zendaya and Robert Pattinson – came to the event at the AMC Century City. However, Chalamet couldn’t be there in person and sent a video message instead.

The Daily Mail has contacted Chalamet’s representatives for comment.

Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Javier Bardem—along with the rest of the cast—attended Tuesday’s event to share a first look at the film.

As a huge fan, I’ve been absolutely captivated by the Dune saga! It’s based on Frank Herbert’s incredible novels from the 60s, and the films have brought it to life with an amazing cast – Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, and Austin Butler are just a few of the stars who’ve made it so special.

Even though Timothée Chalamet had been at the Oscars just two days before, he only attended the trailer launch event virtually, sending a video message.

As someone who keeps a close eye on film and production, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! After working on the first two ‘Dune’ films – a project that really started gaining momentum back in the mid-2010s and officially began production in 2018 – we’ve just released the trailer for ‘Dune: Part Three’! It’s been a massive undertaking – over 150 days of filming across all three movies – and I think fans are going to be blown away by what’s coming.

The actor, known for his role in Call Me By Your Name, praised director Denis Villeneuve, saying the film wouldn’t have been possible without his incredible talent.

He praised the director’s film as a genuine cinematic achievement, and ended the video by saying, ‘Many of us are grateful to Denis for his commitment to making the Dune movies – and now the complete Dune trilogy – a reality. We hope you enjoy this first look at Dune: Part Three.’

As a huge fan, I was so excited to see in the trailer that Paul Atreides, played by Timothée Chalamet, and Chani, Zendaya’s character, are expecting twins! It looks like their relationship is really developing, and I can’t wait to see how that plays out in the movie.

In the new trailer, Paul, now an emperor after starting as a prince, appears with a shaved head while leading a large crowd of his followers.

The short preview also gives fans their first look at Robert Pattinson, who will be playing the villain Scytale in the third installment of the series.

The first two movies in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune trilogy were adapted from Frank Herbert’s original 1965 novel. The third movie will be based on Herbert’s 1969 sequel, Dune Messiah.

Dune: Part Three, featuring Jason Momoa, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlotte Rampling, Josh Brolin, and Isaach de Bankolé, is scheduled for release on December 18th.

Following his loss at the Oscars on Sunday, Timothée Chalamet was spotted seeking comfort from his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, at the lively Vanity Fair afterparty.

He’s been with Jenner for three years and publicly expressed his gratitude to her after winning awards at both the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards.

I have to admit, I was a little heartbroken for Austin Butler last night. You could just see his disappointment when Michael B. Jordan’s name was called for Best Actor. He tried to be gracious, of course, but it was clear he’d hoped to win.

Despite his own emotions, he was able to applaud as Jordan embraced his mother, Donna, and then walked to the microphone to give a heartfelt speech, visibly moved.

The actor, known for his role in Black Panther, expressed his gratitude to everyone present and watching, acknowledging their support throughout his career. He said he truly felt their encouragement.

I appreciate all your support and belief in me, and I’m determined to continue improving and giving my best. Thank you for sticking with me – I won’t let you down.

Following his Oscar loss last year for the film A Complete Unknown, where he played Bob Dylan, Timothée Chalamet openly shared his disappointment in an interview with Vogue.

Let’s be real, if you’re at an event where only one person wins, the rest of us are definitely going to be feeling a little down! It’s just human nature. You don’t walk away from something like that without acknowledging the fact that you didn’t take home the prize. It’s okay to feel a little disappointed – we all do!

I’ve worked with some incredibly giving and humble actors, and while a few might be enjoying this moment, many are likely feeling frustrated and upset.
