Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul now slammed for doing Bachelorette amid drama with ex

As someone who follows the world of reality TV closely, I’m seeing a lot of buzz around the latest casting choice for The Bachelor. Sydney Warner, a contestant from the 2020 season, has publicly expressed her disapproval of bringing Taylor Frankie Paul – known from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives – onto the show. It’s definitely sparked a conversation about who they’re choosing to feature these days!

Paul, age 31, will be the next lead on The Bachelorette, a reality show where he’ll be dating several contestants who are all hoping to marry him.

In a recent episode of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, her fellow cast members threw her a going-away party as she headed to film The Bachelorette.

Things got complicated when Paul’s former partner, Dakota Mortensen—the father of her one-year-old son, Ever—revealed they may have had a final intimate encounter the night before she started filming The Bachelorette.

This past Sunday, Meri Warner shared a scene from Sister Wives on her Instagram Story and criticized Paul for what she saw as disrespect towards the men who rearranged their lives to appear on the show and meet her.

Warner expressed strong disapproval, questioning the decline of ethical standards. He specifically criticized ABC for what he saw as a cynical decision to cast someone controversial simply to attract viewers – a move he couldn’t understand.

Warner expressed his disappointment with the situation, acknowledging that he gained significant opportunities from being on The Bachelor and feels grateful to the show.

She explained that ‘The Bachelor’ is a truly iconic show, and its high standards for contestants were a big part of its reputation. Being a part of the show was an incredible experience, and becoming the lead was life-changing.

Warner criticized Paul for being disrespectful to both the show and the men interested in her. She expressed disappointment that the struggling series was resorting to dramatic and undignified tactics to attract viewers, saying she felt sorry for the men involved and wished the show would end gracefully.

She expressed her disbelief and frustration, saying it was difficult to watch someone show so little interest in an opportunity that many others would cherish. She questioned what motivated this lack of concern.

Sydney Hightower was a contestant on Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor in 2020. In 2022, she married NFL player Fred Warner, and they now have two children together.

Just one day before news broke that filming on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was halted, Warner shared her honest opinions online. The show’s production was paused because one of its main stars and her former partner are being investigated for domestic violence.

Filming for the fifth season of the Hulu show has reportedly been paused because of significant problems with Taylor Frankie Paul, one of the show’s main cast members.

According to a source who spoke with People magazine, production has been paused. Taylor Frankie Paul is dealing with personal issues related to her past, and filming will resume once those are resolved.

The Draper City Police Department has confirmed to the media that they are actively investigating Paul and Mortensen for domestic assault.

Both sides have made claims, according to a department spokesperson. They said officials reached out to those involved on February 24th and 25th.

Daily Mail reached out to Paul, Mortensen, Hulu, ABC, and the Draper City Police Department for a statement, but they haven’t responded yet.

Variety reports that the break in filming is only temporary, and production should start up again shortly.

The hiatus will likely not have a major impact on the season five release date.

The alleged incident also did not happen on camera.

According to Us Weekly, a source claims Taylor’s co-stars are afraid to film scenes with her, leading to production delays. The source says the female cast members specifically don’t want to work with her, believing she’s a risk to the show.

Paul and her ex have reportedly been ordered to get psych evaluations, according to TMZ.

Paul is a father to four children. He and Dakota share a son named Ever, and he has a daughter, Indy, and another son, Ocean, with his former spouse, Tate.

I’ve been following this closely, and it seems Dakota has contacted Utah’s Child and Family Services multiple times with concerns about Taylor allegedly physically abusing their daughter, Ever. Taylor’s dad, Paul, has strongly denied these claims, according to what TMZ is reporting.

According to reports, Paul and Dakota got into a physical altercation late last month while they were in a car together. Sources say Dakota became physical with Paul after a drink spilled on him and the car seat. However, Dakota reportedly called the police first, claiming Paul was the aggressor.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m hearing that things are getting serious for Dakota and her family. It seems the Department of Children and Family Services has started an investigation based on concerns Dakota has raised. To help everyone involved, the state has requested both Dakota and another party to undergo psychological evaluations. It’s a tough situation, but hopefully, these evaluations will help everyone get the support they need.

The recent incident is not Paul’s first brush with the law.

In 2023, she was arrested on domestic violence charges after reportedly throwing chairs at Mortensen, and one of them unintentionally struck her five-year-old daughter, Indy, in the head.

Paul admitted guilt to a serious assault charge, which is a felony. In exchange, prosecutors dropped the other four charges against him, meaning they can’t be filed again.

As part of her requirements, she needed to attend counseling, get assessed for substance abuse and domestic violence, and avoid any future legal issues.

In a subsequent TikTok, Paul reflected on everything that had happened but remained defiant.

She stated she only needed to explain herself to those directly affected. She also mentioned the legal proceedings were finished until next year, when there would be a follow-up to check on her progress and well-being.

Honestly, even though that night was awful and I desperately wish things had turned out differently, I truly believe it was a turning point for me. It forced me to finally reach out for the help I needed, something I hadn’t been doing before. It was a really hard time, but in a strange way, it ended up being a good thing.

Oh my god, I just saw the police bodycam footage the Daily Mail got, and it’s insane! Apparently, Paul totally lost it because Viggo wouldn’t drive her to a concert – she’d had a little too much to drink, and he wouldn’t let her! Can you believe it? It’s just… heartbreaking and infuriating all at once. I mean, Viggo was probably just trying to be responsible, but still! It’s so dramatic, and I’m completely obsessed with knowing every detail.

According to video footage, the social media personality told police she was frightened and had accidentally wet herself when they arrived at the scene in a Salt Lake City suburb.

Paul was arrested at her home in Herriman, Utah, on misdemeanor charges.

Okay, so things took a serious turn in this case. Initially, the charges were lower, but when Mr. Mortensen handed over cell phone video clearly showing the chair actually hit the victim, authorities felt they needed to escalate things. That meant upgrading the charges to much more serious felonies – aggravated assault, reckless child abuse, and domestic violence committed in front of a child. It’s a stark reminder that evidence, especially visual evidence, can significantly change the course of a legal case.

Two weeks after the incident, the Salt Lake County District Attorney filed charges against Paul. He was accused of two felony counts of domestic violence committed in front of a child, resulting in injury, as well as misdemeanor charges of child abuse with injury and criminal mischief.

If found guilty on all counts, she could have received up to five years in prison for each of the three felony charges.

Paul and a group of couples in Utah engaged in ‘soft swinging,’ which involves swapping partners for intimate activities but without sexual intercourse.

She shocked people by revealing she’d committed a major mistake, which led to her divorce from Tate and the loss of most of her friendships.

It’s currently unknown if the recent investigation will have any effect on the new season of The Bachelorette, featuring Paul. But according to Variety, the show’s planned release date and promotional events are still on track.
