Eamonn Holmes, using his wheelchair, attended a Cancer Research event in London on Monday alongside Elizabeth Hurley.
The 66-year-old broadcaster, who recently shared details about his health issues, was photographed smiling and holding a drink at The Corinthia Hotel.
Eamonn looked smart in a navy blue suit which he paired with a patterned tie and a white shirt.
You know, I was so happy to see him recently! After a really tough few years – major spinal surgery and a few other health battles – he looked fantastic. Honestly, he was beaming, and it was just wonderful to see him doing so well.
At Turn The Tables 2026, hosted by Tania Bryer and James Landale, 60-year-old Elizabeth wore a burgundy dress.
The model showed off her legs in a sleek dress with a high slit and a low-cut neckline.
Viewers became worried during Wednesday’s GB News broadcast of ‘Breakfast with Eamonn and Ellie’ when Eamonn appeared to slur his words and seemed to fall asleep on air.
I was SO thrilled to see them back on TV last week! After everything they’ve been through with their health, it was amazing to see them presenting the news with Ellie Costello again. Honestly, I nearly cried with relief – they just belong on our screens!
Towards the very end of the program, Eamonn appeared to be struggling to stay awake while interviewing Darren Jones, the Prime Minister’s Chief Secretary.
As Ellie questioned Darren about the Mandelson files, Eamonn closed his eyes. Later in the conversation, he picked up a pen and had difficulty getting the cap back on.
Journalist Eamonn also played with his microphone and started to scroll on his mobile phone.
Once the interview concluded, Eamonn signed off by telling viewers, “We’ll be back bright and early tomorrow! Enjoy your day, whatever you’re doing!”
A source told The Sun: ‘It hasn’t gone unnoticed that Eamonn has been struggling a lot more lately.
I noticed today that he was really struggling to stay awake and his speech was becoming quite slurred. Social media quickly lit up with people commenting on it, too – it was definitely noticeable.
Daily Mail contacted GB News for comment.
The journalist recently discussed his current life and the challenges he deals with both at work and personally during an interview on Scott Wright’s Session7 podcast.
Host Scott asked him: ‘What does the future hold for Eamonn Holmes?’
Eamonn, who is dating Katie Alexander, 43, expressed his frustration with societal ageism and the difficulties he’s faced over the past two years while dealing with illness and being in a wheelchair. He said it’s been a really tough time.
Honestly, I don’t believe television has any interest in me. I’m unable to stand up on my own and require assistance to get out of this chair. I rely on caregivers to help me throughout the day.
Once I get settled and start working, I’m capable and know exactly what needs to be done. I also realize it can be difficult for others to interact with me.
In the podcast, he explained that it’s striking how often, as a disabled person, you encounter accessibility issues in everyday places like theaters, restaurants, and cinemas.
I’m always impressed by the experience of going to the movies. However, for people with disabilities, seating is often limited to the very back or the very front of the theater – there aren’t many other options.
‘And you think to yourself, why is this? Why does it have to be one or the other like that?’
