Jack Ritchson posted a picture on Instagram of himself as Solid Snake, the main character from the Metal Gear Solid video games, while in costume for his role in War Machine. He captioned the photo, “The Dream,” and followed it with the intriguing question, “Next, La Li Lu Le Lo?”

In Metal Gear Solid, the code “La Li Lu Le Lo” represents The Patriots, a powerful organization that secretly governs the world using artificial intelligence.

Ritchson’s new film, War Machine, is drawing comparisons to Metal Gear Solid due to its central theme of humans versus artificial intelligence. The movie features Ritchson playing a highly skilled soldier who leads his team in a fight against a technologically advanced robot determined to eliminate humanity.

Metal Gear Solid, designed by Hideo Kojima for PlayStation, centers around Solid Snake, a soldier who must sneak into a nuclear base to stop terrorists and rescue captured hostages.

For more than ten years, Jordan Vogt-Roberts has been set to direct a live-action movie based on Metal Gear Solid. Oscar Isaac was chosen to play Snake back in 2020. However, as of March 2026, the film is still in development, and there’s no confirmed release date.

In War Machine, Joe Manganiello plays Staff Sergeant 81, a highly athletic soldier working to become an Army Ranger. During the final stage of his training, things turn dangerous when his unit encounters a robotic enemy from outer space.

Patrick Hughes directed ‘War Machine,’ which quickly became the most-watched film on Netflix worldwide. Both Hughes and star Jack Ritchson have hinted at a possible sequel if Netflix wants to continue the story.
