Okay, so I’m hearing some interesting buzz about what Lewis Pullman’s Sentry will do in the new Avengers: Doomsday movie. We already knew he’d be in it, which is awesome, but apparently his role is going to be pretty significant – like, a really impressive feat for the character. Everyone’s trying to figure out exactly how he’ll fit into the bigger story, and honestly, I’m so hyped to find out!
Sentry rumored to stop an incursion with bare hands in Avengers: Doomsday
A new rumor suggests that Sentry will stop an incursion bare-handed.
A reliable source in the entertainment industry, MyTimetoShineHello, revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that a scene in the upcoming Avengers Doomsday will show the superhero Sentry physically stopping an Incursion – essentially holding it back with his bare hands.
The rumor surfaced soon after someone familiar with the movie hinted that the character has a major role in the finale, describing it as “CRAZY.” This suggests Marvel could be fully unleashing the character’s power in the film, something fans have long wanted after feeling his potential wasn’t fully realized in Thunderbolts.
Lewis Pullman explained how characters like Sentry will be used in the upcoming film, Doomsday. He told Collider that every character has a specific purpose and isn’t just included for the sake of having them there.
As a fan myself, I think this movie is a dream come true,” he said. “Every character has a significant and interesting arc. No one feels like they’re just there as filler – each person has a specific purpose and a unique story, which is really engaging.
During the interview, he also discussed how the Russo brothers approach their work and the close, collaborative environment they foster on set. He drew a parallel between this and the atmosphere he experienced while making his new movie, Wishful Thinking.
He hinted that the Russo brothers’ filmmaking process shares surprising similarities with that of a much smaller production. He emphasized that they haven’t lost their creative spark and described their approach as collaborative and inclusive, like a family working together.
He explained that the filmmakers really trusted the actors to understand their characters and gave them the freedom to play the roles in their own way. Pullman also described the directors as kind and supportive, saying they skillfully provided a comfortable framework for the actors to work within.
The new Avengers movie, titled Doomsday, will be released on December 18, 2026. The film was directed by the Russo brothers and written by Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron. The Russo brothers and Marvel Studios, through their company AGBO, also produced the movie together.
Meanwhile, the sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, premieres on December 17, 2027.
