In Monster Hunter Stories 3, the Silverwind Nargacuga is a special variant of the monster you can unlock relatively soon after starting the game.
The Silverwind Nargacuga is a special monstie you can’t get right away. First, you’ll need to obtain a regular Nargacuga egg, which is challenging because you have to defeat the Invasive Nerscylla to get it. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to add a Silverwind Nargacuga to your team.

How to repel the Invasive Nerscylla in Monster Hunter Stories 3
To encounter the Silverwind Nargacuga, you first need to successfully repel the Invasive Nerscylla. Start by gliding east from Camp: Blessing Hill in the Canalta Timberland. Then, head directly towards the location marked with the number “6” on your map.

You’ll encounter the Invasive Nerscylla, which is threatening the endangered Nargacuga’s home. To fight it effectively, bring a Gunlance equipped with the Wyvern’s Fire skill. Conserve your stamina and wait until the Nerscylla turns invisible. Then, use the Wyvern’s Fire skill to stop its attack.

Once you repel the Nerscylla, go to the endangered den and get your Nargacuga egg.
How to get the Silverwind Nargacuga in Monster Hunter Stories 3
After you get the egg, just wait for the Nargacuga to hatch. Nargacuga is a powerful monster you’ll encounter in the second chapter, but the Silverwind Nargacuga is even stronger. It’s one of two special variations, along with the Green Nargacuga.
To get the Silverwind Nargacuga, you have to meet two requirements.
- You need to get the Nargacuga/Green Nargacuga’s Ecosystem Rank to S.
- The monstie must reside in habitats that have two or more monsters that control the winds, like the Great Izuchi, the Paolumi, and the Legiana.
As a hunter, I’ve found the Blessing Hill area in the Canalta Timbaland is perfect for what I needed! It already has the Great Izuchi roaming around, and the best part is, I can also release the Nargacuga into that same zone. It’s a great setup!

Now, you just need to find four Nargacuga eggs to hatch. The best way to do this is to find a Nargacuga roaming the wild – you should be able to find one since you’ve introduced them to the area. Lower its health and use a Paintball to mark it, then you can follow its trail back to its nest and collect an egg.
Okay, so I finally managed to find all four Nargacuga eggs! Now I’m just patiently waiting for them to hatch. The guide says if I release them back where I found them, it’ll boost the area’s Ecosystem rank all the way to S. Apparently, once it hits S, I’ll unlock the Silverwind mutation, which I’ve been wanting forever! And if I haven’t unlocked the Green mutation yet, this will take care of that too. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly!
Next time you discover Nargacuga eggs, you might find some from the rare Silverwind variety. If you’re interested in collecting all the different monstie types, you can find a full list of every variant here.
