See takes place in a future where a devastating virus has wiped out most of humanity, leaving the survivors blind. The show follows a family with children who uniquely possess the ability to see, and their struggles to survive. While intensely violent and often harsh, the series ultimately focuses on the power of family and the importance of community.

There are many stories about life after a disaster, but the show See stands out because it explores how people rebuild and change society after everything they knew is lost. Over its three seasons, See generally received positive feedback and earned a 63% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Though it didn’t initially gain much attention when it first came out in 2019, the series See became popular on Apple TV in 2025 after Jason Momoa’s Chief of War was released. Considering Apple TV has fewer subscribers than Netflix or Amazon Prime Video, it’s not surprising that See remained a hidden favorite.

In the series See, Jason Momoa stars as Baba Voss, the strong and protective leader of his village. He’s a skilled warrior dedicated to keeping his family and people safe, but he’s also hiding a troubled past he wants to leave behind.

I have to say, Jason Momoa is incredible as Baba Voss. He completely embodies this fierce warrior, and it’s just a pleasure to watch. What’s really cool about See is they don’t just make him a tough guy; Momoa brings a lot of vulnerability and tenderness to the role. You really feel for Baba Voss and his desperate need to protect his family – it makes him so much more than just a fighter.

Why See Ended After Only Three Seasons

I keep seeing people ask if See was canceled, but that’s not really the case. The showrunners actually planned for it to end after three seasons, and they felt like they told the complete story they wanted to tell. It wasn’t a cancellation, it was a planned conclusion!

Although there were possibilities for continuing the show, See was originally intended to run for three seasons. Thankfully, unlike many streaming series that get cancelled prematurely, See was allowed to finish its story properly and resolve all plotlines.
