Where The Oscars Are Being Held (& When The Red Carpet Starts)

The Academy Awards ceremony will be held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. The theater was specifically built for the Oscars and has been the official venue since 2001, with a contract in place to host through 2028.

As a movie fan, one of my favorite parts of the Oscars isn’t actually the ceremony itself – it’s the red carpet! It’s our first glimpse of all the stars, and a chance to see what amazing outfits they’ve chosen. Plus, we often get little hints about what they’re working on next. This year, the pre-show coverage kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Eastern, or 3:30 if you’re on the West Coast.

ABC News will kick off the Oscars coverage with interviews of the nominees and those presenting awards. At the same time, fashion experts Roshumba Williams and Joe Zee will be highlighting the best red-carpet looks.

I’m so excited for the Oscars! They’re starting at 7 p.m. Eastern, which is 4 p.m. out West, and the show itself is planned to last about three and a half hours. That doesn’t even include all the fun of watching everyone on the red carpet beforehand!

Who Is Hosting The 98th Academy Awards Ceremony

Conan O’Brien, a well-known TV host and comedian, will be hosting the event. He’s a popular choice for awards shows, having previously hosted the Oscars, the Emmys (in 2002 and 2006), and the MTV Movie Awards in 2014. He’s famous for his quick wit and playfully teasing the stars in attendance.

As always, the awards will be given out by well-known figures in the entertainment world. This year’s presenters include Sigourney Weaver, Delroy Lindo, and Pedro Pascal, among others.

The Biggest Nominations Of Oscars 2026 Explained

Based on recent award shows, the 2026 Oscars are shaping up to be highly competitive, with no single film expected to dominate. Jordan brings the heat in Sinners, and rounding out the group is Wagner Moura, who is captivating in The Secret Agent. It’s going to be a tough race!
