Jaime King says she has a ‘really exciting’ year ahead as she feels better than ever… after a bumpy 2025

Jaime King attended the premiere of ‘Self Custody’ at SXSW in Austin, Texas on Saturday night.

The longtime Hollywood actress told Daily Mail she is feeling better than ever.

The actress said she’s working on four movies this year, and she’s really looking forward to a creatively fulfilling 2026.

Honestly, my kids? They’re everything. Seriously, everything. Just watching them grow up, seeing how smart and genuinely good-hearted they are… it just fills me with so much wonder. They’re the absolute most important thing in my world, always have been, always will be.

Marissa King and her ex-husband, Kyle Newman, have two sons: James Knight, born in October 2013, and Leo Thames, born in July 2015. Leo is well-known as Taylor Swift’s godson.

King looked stunning in a revealing outfit designed by Rita Ghamine, featuring a bodysuit and sheer black gown. She completed the look with ruby red lipstick and slicked-back hair, styled by Ricardo Rojas.

The SXSW event is close to her heart.

Garrett Patten’s short film, ‘Self Custody,’ features Patten himself alongside UFC champion Henry Cejudo and actor Adrian Grenier (known for ‘Entourage’). The film is presented by The Hollywood Reporter.

Self Custody is a short film about a father, played by Patten, who urgently tries to find a Bitcoin fortune he’d forgotten about.

King attended to show his support for his friends and colleagues who were creating these innovative short films.

The actor recently told Daily Mail that Garrett Patten’s work with short films, such as ‘SELF CUSTODY,’ is remarkable. They feel this style of filmmaking represents the future and expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with him.

Being back in Austin for SXSW feels great! I’ve actually spent quite a bit of time here over the years, largely thanks to my work with Robert Rodriguez. It’s always good to return!

Okay, seriously, this director? He’s everything to me. We filmed both Sin City movies here in Austin, and then Robert – can you believe it? – he cast George Clooney and me in this amazing project! Austin just feels like where my whole creative life happened because of him. It’s like, every cool thing I’ve done, it all comes back to this place and working with him.

I really enjoyed living here while working on Noah Hawley’s show, My Generation, so returning always brings back a lot of good memories.

I’m really drawn to this city. It has a vibrant arts scene and a wonderfully supportive community for creatives.

In January King said she was ‘blindsided’ by her husband Austin Sosa filing for divorce.

Okay, so this is a bit of a shocker! The actress, who’s 46, secretly married her fiancé, an investment banker, last summer. They were so excited, but now, less than a year later, he’s reportedly filed for divorce. Apparently, she’s completely blindsided by this, which is just heartbreaking to hear, especially after what seemed like a lovely, private wedding.

Jaime told Us Weekly he was shocked by the divorce filing, saying it came as a complete surprise.

I spent time with Austin right before the news came out about our separation. Like all couples, we faced some difficulties, but I truly thought we were trying to make things work.

Following her divorce, King emphasized that her priority is her two sons, James and Leo, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Kyle Newman.

The actor from ‘White Chicks’ also shared that this is a private matter and asked people to respect that. They hope everyone will stop jumping to conclusions, especially when it involves unfairly focusing on women at work.
