As a big Marvel fan, I was excited to check out Wonder Man. It’s currently available on Hulu for a limited time, and the first episode is even up on YouTube for free! All eight episodes landed on Disney+ at the end of January, but honestly, it didn’t seem to hold people’s attention for very long. Nielsen’s top ten list showed the No. 10 show got around 332 million minutes of watch time that second week, and Wonder Man just didn’t quite reach that number. It’s a bit disappointing, but I’m still planning to give it a watch!
Meet Simon, a man with big dreams of becoming a star. He’s hiding something, though! You can now watch #WonderMan, but only for a limited time.

Putting Wonder Man on Hulu hints that Disney is attempting to revive interest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which was once hugely popular.
Wonder Man’s Disney+ Debut
Nielsen’s findings were confirmed by Luminate, another company that tracks viewing numbers. Luminate reported that Wonder Man racked up 549.6 million minutes of watch time in its first 10 days on Disney+. For comparison, Daredevil: Born Again reached 629.4 million minutes in its first 10 days, despite only having three episodes available at the time. The first three episodes of Agatha: All Along—which received a lot of negative feedback online—totaled 377 million minutes watched in their first nine days.

Disney isn’t just releasing Wonder Man on Hulu; they’re also promoting it on other platforms. The first episode appeared on YouTube on March 3rd, encouraging viewers to finish the series on Disney+ – Hulu wasn’t mentioned in the video description. As of today, that YouTube video has been viewed around 154,000 times.
As a Disney+ subscriber, I know Hulu and Disney+ are both owned by Disney, but they aren’t planning a complete combination until the end of 2026. That means people who subscribe to one don’t necessarily watch the other. I think Disney made a smart move putting Wonder Man on Hulu – it keeps the show within the Disney family and lets them reach viewers who might not be Disney+ subscribers. They advertised it as being available for a limited time, probably hoping to create some excitement and get people to watch right away. But honestly, the ratings haven’t been great, so it doesn’t seem like that strategy really worked with the Disney+ crowd.

It’s still unclear how Hulu viewers will react to Wonder Man, but the pressure is on Marvel. With several recent projects underperforming, even the success of Wonder Man is important now.
How Wonder Man Fits into the Big Picture
As a huge Marvel fan, I’m really looking forward to 2026 – it feels like a make-or-break year for the MCU. They’re pinning a lot on Avengers: Doomsday coming out this December, and word is it’s going to be a seriously expensive movie to make. Honestly, they need it to do well, and that means everything leading up to it has to work. 2025 wasn’t great; Thunderbolts, the new Captain America movie, and the Fantastic Four reboot all underperformed in theaters. Plus, a lot of the Disney+ shows just didn’t quite connect with audiences – they were pretty divisive, to be honest.

Despite recent criticism of some Marvel shows, Wonder Man has been generally well-received. Many online viewers who haven’t been impressed with recent projects have praised its more focused story and fun, lighthearted approach. As of now, the show has a 63% approval rating from 33 users on the review site Criticless.
Although Wonder Man won’t be in the already large cast of Doomsday, he’s still an important part of the overall franchise.
Quality, Quantity, and the Audience
The biggest challenge for the Marvel Cinematic Universe might not be how to release content, but whether people will actually watch it. Simply putting Wonder Man on Hulu won’t help if viewers are already overwhelmed by choices. The show’s slow start on Disney+ might not mean it’s bad – it could just mean audiences are getting tired of so many Marvel projects. Making Wonder Man more accessible might not be enough to change that.
