EastEnders star Max Bowden leaves pub goers stunned with incredible karaoke performance

EastEnders actor Max Bowden surprised people at a pub this week by performing karaoke and showcasing his singing talent.

People in the audience were surprised and impressed when the actor unexpectedly sang a heartfelt version of Elton John’s classic song, “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.”

Wearing a simple white long-sleeved shirt and jeans, Max walked onto the stage at the Town Wall Tavern in Coventry, exciting his fans.

Max starred on the Albert Square soap from 2019 until 2024 as Phil Mitchell’s son, Ben.

Coventry’s Little Theatre Pub announced on TikTok that they often host celebrities at their karaoke nights! They shared the post with the hashtags #karaoke, #coventrycitycentre, #fridaynight, #eastenders, and #pub.

The performance surprised many viewers, with one commenter writing, ‘I was really not expecting that voice!’

Max started his career as an actor in the theatre, and he famously played Billy in a production of Billy Eliot when he was younger.

Max was recently seen at a pub following news that he and actress Katie McGlynn ended their brief relationship in December.

Max and a former actress from Coronation Street, who is 32 years old, were said to be getting close after he broke up with his girlfriend. They had been performing together in a touring play called Murder At Midnight.

Last year, photos surfaced of the couple sharing a passionate kiss after attending a performance at Malvern Theatre in Worcestershire.

In December, The Sun reported that the couple had broken up, allegedly because their public display of affection upset the woman’s former partner, Ricky Rayment.

A source told the publication: ‘Max and Katie have had a bit of a whirlwind romance.

I just… I can’t believe it. They were always together, working, working, working! It totally consumed them, and honestly, I thought it was so cute, like a real power couple. But apparently, it all got too much. Katie finally realized things weren’t right and she broke it off. It’s so sad, but good for her, I guess, for finally seeing it!

‘Max is said to be pretty cut up about it and it’s made things pretty awkward.’ 

The play is currently on break for the holidays, but performances will resume in the new year, and the cast will reunite to continue working together.

The report also states that Katie’s former fiancé, reality star Ricky, was deeply upset by seeing her kiss someone else so soon after their breakup.

The Daily Mail contacted representatives for both Max and Katie for comment.
