After a somewhat controversial run, the last season of The Conners will be available on Netflix in under two weeks. This marks the end of the series that followed Roseanne.
Season 7 of The Conners will start streaming on Netflix on March 26th. You can already watch the first six seasons on Netflix. Season 7 originally premiered in April 2025.
The Conners Continued the Stories of the Rosanne Characters
Matt Williams, the creator of the popular sitcom Roseanne, launched The Conners in 2018 – the same year the tenth season of Roseanne aired. The Conners continued the story more than twenty years after the original series ended. Following Roseanne Barr’s departure, the show Roseanne was ultimately canceled.
Despite the departure of Barr, The Conners was a huge hit. The show brought back many original cast members, including John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, and Michael Aaron Fishman. Johnny Galecki, Estelle Parsons, and Natalie West also returned to The Conners, appearing in multiple episodes.
Though the show started strong, it lost popularity with viewers around the middle of its seven seasons, which totaled 112 episodes. Currently, The Conners has a 48% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on over 650 user reviews.
What The Conners Meant to the Series’ Most Beloved Stars
Right before the last episode of The Conners aired, John Goodman shared his feelings about the show ending. He admitted it was difficult and something he’d miss, saying he’s not one to easily accept change. He fondly remembered how exciting it was when the show first came together, feeling like it had only been a short time ago. He especially cherished coming to work each day and being with the cast and crew, describing it as a wonderful work environment.
John Goodman doesn’t believe Roseanne Barr’s departure significantly harmed The Conners. He praised the show’s cast, saying everyone brings something special. When asked about his relationship with Barr, Goodman indicated she likely doesn’t want to communicate with him.
Goodman said it had been around seven or eight years since they last spoke. They connected immediately when they first met, sharing a lot of laughs and creating a really enjoyable dynamic. The show was incredibly popular back then, regularly attracting 20 to 30 million viewers. While things have changed, he remembers it as a wonderful period.
