Zara McDermott ‘set to feature as an expert on The Apprentice’ as star takes huge career step

Zara McDermott appears to be moving away from reality television, with reports suggesting she’ll be a mentor on the next episode of The Apprentice.

A celebrity known from reality TV, now making documentaries, will advise the contestants on how to use social media as they compete to reach the final five.

Zara, who gained fame on an ITV dating show and now has 2 million Instagram followers, is clearly skilled at using social media to create a strong personal brand.

In this week’s challenge, contestants will be designing new products for pets and developing a social media strategy to promote them to UK stores.

According to a source, Zara’s large social media following is the reason TV producers wanted her on the show.

The Daily Mail have contacted the BBC and Zara’s representatives for comment.

Zara is currently dating One Direction star Louis Tomlinson after the pair got together last March. 

Louis has had a fantastic start to the year, achieving a Number One album with his latest record, ‘How Did I Get Here?’.

Zara excitedly praised her boyfriend’s accomplishment, saying she was far beyond proud and shared a heartfelt message about him.

The singer’s new album came out on January 23rd, after a four-year gap since his previous release, and immediately went to number one in the UK charts.

Zara shared Louis’ post celebrating his award on her Instagram Story, telling her followers how incredibly proud she was of him.

The reality TV personality, who began dating Louis in early 2025, shared a celebratory post saying, ‘NUMBER 1!!!!!!!!!!! I’m beyond proud! ❤️’

She continued: ‘You deserve this my love. The kindest, most loving human being on this earth.

She ended her post by thanking the artist for sharing their work and dedication, adding a heart emoji.

Zara has reportedly moved in with Louis, a millionaire, at his home in north London. She briefly stayed with her parents after splitting from her ex-boyfriend, Sam Thompson, and leaving their shared house in Fulham.
