Mel C reveals how she keeps the romance alive with her Aussie model boyfriend – and addresses Spice Girls reunion rumours

Mel C shared a heartwarming trick for making time with her boyfriend, Chris Dingwall, despite her busy touring schedule.

Melanie Chisholm, known as a former Spice Girl, recently shared in Stellar magazine that she’s able to spend a lot of quality time with her boyfriend, Chris, because he joins her while she’s traveling for work.

Mel explained that she doesn’t believe in keeping work and personal life separate – she actually enjoys blending them. She credits this change in perspective to meeting her partner, Chris.

He travels with me frequently because he’s a screenwriter and can work from anywhere. Luckily, that often means we get to travel together, which I really appreciate.

In 2024, Mel revealed their relationship with the Australian model, after the two of them connected on the exclusive dating app Raya.

‘It’s so beautiful to be able to enjoy the life I have with the person I love,’ she added.

She also talked about the possibility of a Spice Girls reunion tour, saying she regularly speaks with the other members of the group.

I’d really like to do it, and I’m hopeful it will happen eventually. We care so much about what we’ve built that we sometimes hesitate, because we don’t want to make a mistake, she explained.

We played some incredible stadium shows in the UK in 2019, but unfortunately Victoria Beckham couldn’t join us. I keep saying she really missed something special and needs to see it for herself.

We’re still in talks, and we’re hoping we can find a way to do something special to honor the Spice Girls in the future.

Mel C is heading to Australia in November to perform songs from her new album, Sweat, which comes out on May 1st.

In January, Mel suggested she might get married to her boyfriend, Chris Dingwall, while talking about her previous experiences with depression and feeling alone.

Mel and her partner of 20 years, Thomas Starr, a property developer, have a daughter named Scarlett. They separated in 2021.

She dated her former manager, Joe Marshall, for seven years, but they broke up in 2015.

She opened up about her future with Chris – and whether wedding bells could be in their plans.

Mel shared with The Times that she never expected to find love in this situation, but she’s very happy with Chris and open to the possibility of a future with him.

During the interview, Mel candidly shared how incredibly lonely she felt when the Spice Girls started drifting apart in the late 1990s.

Being constantly in the spotlight caused her to develop unhealthy eating habits and she became overly focused on work, leading her to ignore her personal life.

By the turn of the millennium, she reached breaking point.

‘I’d started having a binge-eating disorder, but I didn’t understand it,’ she admitted.

Mel finally got help from professionals and learned she was struggling with both clinical depression and an eating disorder. This diagnosis was a crucial step towards getting better.
