Rocker Liam Gallagher faces losing his Oasis of calm in the Cotswolds

Late last year, Liam Gallagher, the singer from Oasis, spent £4.2 million on a house in the Cotswolds, likely hoping for a bit of privacy and relaxation.

It seems he’s gotten caught in a dispute between the daughter of a wealthy Russian businessman and local residents, who are upset about her plans to build vacation rentals near his home.

Darina Kogan, whose father Valery Kogan is a billionaire, and her husband Martin Bellamy have applied to build eight holiday cottages on the grounds of their historic 12-bedroom home, Bledisloe House, which is a listed building in the Cotswolds.

The proposal received 65 letters opposing it, and was ultimately rejected in January, even though the planning officer had recommended its approval.

The couple recently applied to build a walled garden, but the council suspects this is a first step in their larger plan to create a holiday resort gradually.

The report suggests the garden is designed to support the planned holiday rentals, not for personal use by the owners of Bledisloe House.

This isn’t the first time the couple has attempted to develop their property. They previously proposed building 24 homes and a community hall in 2021, but strong opposition from local residents caused them to abandon the plan before it even went to the planning department.

On Saturday night 50-year-old Darina insisted: ‘We have no intention of building a holiday resort.’

 

Ryan’s a foxes’ fan 

Ryan Gosling, the actor known for his roles in Hollywood films, believes the UK should appreciate foxes more. He jokingly called them ‘an inspiration’.

‘They were hunted and now they have free rein of the city. They’re cool as hell.’ 

The actor, now living in Hampstead, north London with his family, also hinted at the possibility of their likenesses being used on products like clothing or toys.

‘There should be a mug of a fox leaning against Big Ben with a monocle and a top hat.’ 

 

Lola’s stopped going Dutch with Parker   

There’s some sad news for Lady Lola Bute: she and her boyfriend, Dutch model Parker van Noord, have broken up.

The pair have been together since 2022, but are on ‘a break’, I’m told.

Lola was seen enjoying Paris Fashion Week with celebrities like Lily James, but her partner, Parker, wasn’t with her.

 

Caprice falls for Nigel Farage  

Model Caprice Bourret is the newest well-known figure to publicly support Nigel Farage’s Reform party.

Caprice, a 54-year-old married to wealthy businessman Ty Comfort, has been actively commenting on the Instagram posts of Laila Cunningham, who is running for mayor of London in 2028. She’s even posted messages of support like ‘You will win.’ Last year, Caprice expressed concerns about changes in the country, specifically mentioning a rise in anti-Semitism and stating she felt it was no longer the country she knew.

 

Lord Cameron had a surprising encounter at Cheltenham last week when he struck up a conversation with reality star Gemma Collins. Johnny Depp is selling more of his artwork through the Castle Fine Art gallery, but critics suggest it’s far from masterpiece quality.
