Competition among streaming services is fierce, and Netflix is a major player, especially with all the new and exciting series they’ve announced or released in 2026. From brand new anime to the latest seasons of popular shows, Netflix offers a lot of fresh anime content this year.
If you’re an anime fan looking for something new to watch in 2026, Netflix has a lot of options. They have popular shows like One Piece and My Hero Academia, as well as some exciting new series, meaning there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
One Piece Returns With Its Elbaph Arc
Following the conclusion of the current arc, the original One Piece anime will be back with a new season in April 2026. This new season will also bring a major change to how One Piece airs: instead of weekly episodes, it will now release in seasons of 26 episodes each year. This is a significant shift after almost 30 years of weekly broadcasts.
Although the official release date is still unknown, the story will likely begin with the Elbaph Arc, the second part of the Final Saga. Following their escape from Egghead Island, the Straw Hat Pirates will journey to Elbaph, the land of the Giants, where they’ll encounter new challenges and adventures.
Dandelion Arrives From the Creator of Gintama
Netflix is adapting Hideaki Sorachi’s one-shot manga, Dandelion, into a seven-episode anime series set to release in April 2026. This project is special because Dandelion was Sorachi’s very first work and helped launch his career, making it a particularly exciting watch for fans of his popular series, Gintama.
This anime centers around Testuo Tanba and Misaki Kurogane, agents who help spirits find peace in the afterlife. It’s a funny, supernatural series, and anyone who likes the humor of Gintama should definitely check it out.
The Ramparts of Ice is For Romantic Comedy Lovers
I’m so excited about The Ramparts of Ice! It’s based on the manga by Kocha Agasawa, and it’s a really sweet story. It centers around Koyuki Hikawa, a high school girl who keeps to herself, except for her friend Miki, who’s a popular school idol. Then this guy, Minato, just starts trying to befriend her, and along with Yota, a basketball player, they all end up forming this really fun, slightly messy, but ultimately heartwarming group. It’s just a lovely dynamic!
The new high school drama, The Ramparts of Ice, will begin streaming on Netflix on April 2, 2026, with new episodes released each week. The series follows Koyuki as she deals with the challenges of high school and friendships, blending humor with heartfelt moments.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is Back With Steel Ball Run
As a huge JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fan, I can tell you we’ve been waiting ages – four whole years! – for a new season. But the wait is finally over! JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run is hitting Netflix on March 19th, and it’s the sixth part of the anime. The first episode is a full 47 minutes long, which is awesome!
Hirohiko Araki’s manga will enter its seventh major story arc with Steel Ball Run. The story follows Johnny Joestar, a former horse jockey who lost the ability to walk, and his quest to regain it. He teams up with Gyro Zeppeli and together they compete in the Steel Ball Run, a challenging race across America from San Diego to New York, hoping to uncover the secrets of Gyro’s unique fighting technique, the Spin.
Beastars Has Finally Concluded on Netflix
The anime series Beastars is known for its detailed animation and thoughtful look at how prejudice affects society, and is considered a standout show. After a two-year wait following the release of the first part of season three, all 12 final episodes are now streaming on Netflix.
Picking up right after the last episode, Legoshi is determined to confront Melon after their dangerous fight. He believes bringing Melon to justice is his only chance to be with Haru, despite being a Devourer. Anime fans can look forward to seeing how the story concludes and if Legoshi and Haru can finally be together.
Frieren Season 2 is Netflix’s Most-Hyped Anime Right Now
The second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is now streaming on Netflix and is receiving rave reviews from both critics and viewers. It began airing on January 16, 2026, with new episodes released weekly, and has quickly become a favorite among anime fans who have been enjoying the series since the start of the year.
Season two of Frieren is a fantasy adventure that continues to follow the elf Frieren and her students, Fern and Stark, on their journey north. As they travel, the story explores themes of time passing and the preciousness of life. If you enjoy magical adventures with exciting battles and appreciate stories that are both heartfelt and thought-provoking, Frieren is definitely worth watching.
Pokémon Horizons — Rising Hope Part 2 Will Finally Be Available on U.S. Netflix
I’m excited to share that the second part of Pokémon Horizons — Rising Hope is coming to U.S. Netflix on March 20th! This continues the story of Liko, Roy, and Dot as they investigate the rare substance Laquium and learn more about their intriguing new friend, Ult. It’s the third part of the overall Pokémon Horizons series, so there’s a lot to catch up on!
As a lifelong Pokémon fan, I’m so hyped for what’s coming next! With the 30th anniversary here, we’re getting a brand new story called Pokémon Horizons. It’s going to be amazing seeing familiar characters alongside a fresh cast of friends and rivals, and of course, all the thrilling Pokémon battles we know and love!
My Hero Academia’s Final Season is Coming to Netflix
The final season of My Hero Academia premiered in October 2025, and fans have been eagerly awaiting its arrival on Netflix. Good news for those waiting – it will be available to stream starting April 1, 2026! Plus, a new movie is coming out on May 2nd, and many hope it will also be added to Netflix soon.
The last season of My Hero Academia will conclude the intense conflicts between Izuku Midoriya and Tomura Shigakari, All Might and All For One, and all the other heroes and villains. Deku will keep fighting to protect the world and achieve his dream of becoming the greatest hero. Plus, this epic finale features extra, exclusive anime scenes, making it a must-watch for fans.
Sparks of Tomorrow is a Steampunk Historical Drama
I’m so excited about Sparks of Tomorrow! It’s from Kyoto Animation – the team behind some of my favorites like Free!, K-On!, and the beautiful Violet Evergarden. This new anime is based on Hiro Yuki’s light novels, 20 Seiki Denki Mokuroku, and it’s set in a really cool alternate Meiji-era Japan. They’ve got amazing steam-powered tech, and the story follows Kihachi Sakamoto and Inako Momokawa as they chase a dream of a future “Age of Electricity” – hoping it will change their lives for the better.
The eagerly awaited anime series, Sparks of Tomorrow, is set to premiere worldwide on Netflix in July 2026. The show features stunning animation and a unique setting: an industrialized, steampunk-inspired version of 1900s Japan. Its story delves into themes of technology and the power of the human spirit.
Netflix’s Devil May Cry Adaptation Returns For Season 2
The first season of Devil May Cry premiered on Netflix in 2025 and was well-received by critics, who praised its exciting and violent fight scenes, as well as its cool characters. While some fans noted it wasn’t a perfect adaptation of the Devil May Cry video games, it still proved to be very popular, building anticipation for the second season which arrives on May 12th.
I’ve been following the story of Dante, a demon hunter in Devil May Cry. He’s constantly dodging a shadowy government group called DARKCOM while fighting off threats like the White Rabbit, a terrorist with a vendetta. The anime’s second season really digs deeper into Dante’s past, and it’s become much more personal – he’s now facing off against his twin brother, Vergil. It’s a compelling shift that really focuses on Dante himself.
