Blade & Soul Heroes to end global service on June 16, 2026, six months after release, following KR closure

Story Highlights

  • The final March 17 update brings remaining content including Hero Ryun, with abundant in-game items available until EOS.
  • The team also promised refunds for purchases made in the last three months.

NCSOFT has announced that its action role-playing game, Blade & Soul Heroes, will no longer be available worldwide starting June 16, 2026. The game initially launched globally in September 2025, following its release in South Korea in 2024. Similar to the Korean version which closed recently, the global game will also be discontinued.

Blade & Soul Heroes faces early shutdown after brief global run

I’m really into this new game, Blade & Soul Heroes! It’s a collectible action MMORPG that actually takes place before the main Blade & Soul story – about three years before, to be exact. The world is gorgeous, totally anime-inspired, and you get to collect over 40 heroes. Basically, you’re helping Yusol rebuild her clan and take down the big bad, Yi Chun, through some really cool, strategic turn-based battles. It’s a lot of fun!

Sadly, the global version of Blade & Soul Heroes will also be shutting down, following the Korean version. The development team announced on the official website that the game’s service will end on June 16, 2026 – just six months after its global launch.

You can enjoy abundant in-game items and even collect the new hero until EOS

After the recent announcement, we’ve stopped selling items for real money in the game shop, but you can still enjoy playing until the game’s end date. On March 17th, we’ll release a final update with all remaining content, including the new hero, Ryun. We’re also offering a variety of free items through the in-game shops and events.

It’s unfortunate the game is ending, but players who made purchases within the last three months will receive refunds. If that includes you, please keep an eye out for a Compensation Notice on March 17th. It will contain instructions on how to request your refund.

Despite the unfortunate news, many fans aren’t too upset, with some even saying the game had it coming. One player joked about spending three days playing the game, despite its flaws. However, many hope NCSOFT will improve things, as Blade & Soul is a beloved and iconic game that deserves better support.
