Lorna Luxe steps out at Cheltenham Festival in her first public outing since the death of her husband John

Lorna Luxe has been seen in public for the first time since her husband, John Andrews, passed away from cancer last month.

The well-known influencer, 43, came back to social media earlier this week to share that a lovely funeral service had been held for the businessman.

Lorna expressed her gratitude to her fans, letting them know she had read and appreciated all of their messages of sympathy.

I was so excited to see her at the races! She really seemed to enjoy the Cheltenham Festival this year, and it was lovely to see photos of her having fun with a friend on Friday.

Lorna dressed in a stylish, racing-inspired outfit. She paired a white shirt and brown tie with high-waisted trousers, and finished the look with a tan, checkered trench coat.

She was dressed in Holland Cooper, after being invited by its owners.

Lorna shared a heartwarming video on Saturday morning, revealing she’d won a bet and felt John was supporting her, even after his passing.

She mentioned that she once met designer Amanda Wakeley, who playfully encouraged her to make a bet.

As a bit of a style enthusiast, I always love collaborating with other designers! I wore Amanda Wakely for my wedding, so when I was filming with John around December, we had fun recreating a look with one of her dresses. We were chatting away, and she playfully suggested we pop to the bookies. Next thing I knew, we were heading to place a bet!

She noticed one of the horses was named Johnny’s Jewellery and wondered if they should bet on it. It was a long shot, not considered a likely winner.

Okay, so we were totally up for it, and I just had to put some money on it – twenty pounds each way, to be exact. And she, well, she went all in with forty pounds, which meant twenty pounds each way for her too. I was so excited, hoping it would pay off!

We actually won! I was so excited – she won around 500 to 600 pounds. I ended up with about 250 pounds myself. I was just over the moon, it was a fantastic experience and really cheered me up. It was a truly brilliant moment, and honestly, it brought tears to my eyes.

Just thinking about it makes me emotional. I wanted to share that with you – it was a truly wonderful day.

It was truly wonderful! Even though he couldn’t be there physically, I genuinely felt his presence with me throughout the whole experience. I’m so thankful to Jane and Julian for giving me the opportunity to be a part of it.

John, 21 years older than Lorna, fought stage four adrenal cancer after receiving his diagnosis in April 2023.

Lorna announced his death on February 12. The couple had been married for 16 years.

Lorna recently returned to social media and shared a message with her fans. She explained she’d noticed many messages from people asking how she was and saying they missed her. She said she felt the same way and wanted to reconnect.

John’s funeral was yesterday, and it was a truly beautiful service. It was wonderful to see so many people there, including some I hadn’t seen in years. I knew a lot of people would come – John was loved by everyone.

That meant a lot to me, and it was a positive day overall. It was nice to talk about him and honor his life. We held a non-religious celebration, and surprisingly, he would have really enjoyed the service.

After the funeral, we celebrated his life with a buffet of his favorite foods and wines. It was a fitting tribute to a truly generous and wonderful man.

I’m going to dedicate the next week to organizing this charity sale. We had to postpone it because John was so unwell, and sadly, he passed away just five days after the original date. Holding the sale now will be a beautiful way to honor his memory.

That’s what I’ll be focusing on right now. I really need to stay active and occupied, so I’m planning to spend more time with friends and get out of the house more often.

I’m truly thankful for all your kind messages. You’ve all been exactly what I needed, and I really appreciate your support.

Lorna organized a fundraising event to support both Maggie’s Cancer Charity and The Meath Epilepsy Charity.

But that week John was too ill for her to go ahead with the event.

Lorna announced the passing of her husband, John, sharing a touching message: ‘My wonderful and courageous John died yesterday, and I’m absolutely devastated.’

We stayed together until the very end, peacefully at home in our bed, holding hands – just as he wished.

The last time we spoke, I asked how he was doing, and he said he was struggling but still felt deeply in love. That really captured who he was – honest and always prioritizing making me feel loved and safe, even when he was going through a hard time.

My husband, John, and I really appreciated the daily visits from the district nurses. They helped us so much and made sure he was comfortable.

Anna was his favorite nurse, and her kindness meant the world to him. He truly felt like she was an angel.

Those final days at home wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible care we received, and my mum was a constant source of strength, helping me be there for John when he needed me most.

‘John you are a class act and I will love you forever.’
