Jessie Buckley reveals why the Oscars ‘scared’ her and shares ‘insane’ experience with Timothée Chalamet and Emma Stone

Jessie Buckley admitted she’s feeling anxious before the Oscars on Sunday, as many predict she’ll be a strong contender for awards again this year.

The 36-year-old actress, known for her role in Hamnet, has been the big winner this awards season, taking home top acting prizes from the BAFTAs, Golden Globes, the Screen Actors Guild, and the Critics’ Choice Awards.

Jessie thought back to her surprisingly fun time at the Oscars luncheon, remembering when she posed for a group photo with Timothée Chalamet and Emma Stone.

The relatable mother of one said winning an Oscar was a dream come true, far beyond anything she imagined. She even joked it might take her until she’s 80 to fully process it all.

In an interview before attending the event at the Dolby Theatre, she admitted it was difficult to fully process what was happening. She joked that she might have a better explanation when she’s older, perhaps when she’s eighty.

Attending the Oscar nominee luncheon can be daunting. Honestly, there are times when you’re on your way and think, ‘I’m exhausted, I have a baby at home who needs me, and I feel out of place.’ It’s scary not knowing anyone there.

Looking back at a fun class photo she took with other nominees and famous guests, she told The Mirror she was struck by how incredible the moment was. Seeing people like Guillermo del Toro, Rose Byrne, Timothée Chalamet, and Emma Stone, she realized she needed to appreciate the experience.

I truly never saw this coming. I always hoped to get a glimpse of the creative process, maybe even be involved in a production. This is far more than I ever dreamed possible.

In January, it was revealed that Jessie received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress for her performance in Hamnet.

She’s been nominated again and will be attending the awards ceremony in Los Angeles on March 15th. This follows her previous nomination four years ago for her work in The Lost Daughter.

As a huge awards season follower, I’m already bracing myself for the Best Actress category! It’s going to be a tough one this year. Jessie is up against some incredible talent – Rose Byrne for her work in ‘If I Had Legs I’d Kick You,’ Kate Hudson in ‘Song Sung Blue,’ Renate Reinsve with ‘Sentimental Value,’ and the always amazing Emma Stone in ‘Bugonia.’ Honestly, it’s going to be so hard to pick a favorite!

Jessie expressed her immense pride and gratitude for being nominated for her performance as Agatha Shakespeare.

She told The Hollywood Reporter she was overjoyed, even though her baby could be heard crying in the background. She expressed immense pride and felt honored to be recognized alongside such talented women, and was especially happy to share the moment with her son, Hamnet.

Hamnet received eight award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director for Chloe Zhao. However, many were surprised that Paul Mescal wasn’t nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

Released in January, the movie tells the story of William Shakespeare’s son, Hamnet, and his untimely death, and has been very well-received by critics.

The film has already won several major awards and is expected to win big at the Oscars.

Jessie has received significant recognition for her portrayal of Agnes Shakespeare, the central character, and for beautifully depicting her emotional journey through the life and loss of her son.

The movie delves into how a personal tragedy impacts a family and unexpectedly influences the writing of Shakespeare’s famous play, Hamlet.
