Karl Stefanovic’s wife Jasmine reveals his bizarre nickname as she shares intimate text message

Jasmine Stefanovic shared the funny nickname she uses for her husband, Karl Stefanovic, who hosts the Today show.

The 42-year-old mother shared a sweet nickname her partner uses for her on Instagram Friday, posting a screenshot of a private text conversation between them.

A small photo of Karl, age 51, appeared at the beginning of the messages, along with the nickname ‘Karl Juicy Fruit’.

Jasmine tried flirting with her husband by sending him song lyrics as messages, following a popular online trend where people communicate this way without explaining the lyrics’ meaning.

Jasmine decided to start her message to her husband with the line ‘I’ve been meaning to tell you,’ and chose Eric Carmen’s song ‘Hungry Eyes’ to set the mood.

‘What lover? I’m almost finished,’ Karl responded, referencing his own nickname for his wife.

Jasmine continued, saying she had a persistent and unsettling feeling. She then confessed to Karl, leaving him surprised, that she found herself daydreaming about him.

‘What the f*** are you talking about? Lover. What? Where are you?’ Karl responded. 

Jasmine continued with the joke, writing: ‘You’re mine tonight… Now I’ve got you in my sights.’ 

That’s when Karl finally understood the joke and replied with, ‘Hahaha. Alright hungry eyes,’ followed by a bunch of laughing emojis.

Jasmine shared a funny video and wrote, ‘I had to join the trend! And just to be clear, I definitely don’t flirt with my husband!’

Karl and Jasmine are currently building a lavish $4.5 million home in Castlecrag, a suburb just 9 kilometers north of downtown Sydney.

The couple bought the property in 2021 for $3.2 million. They moved out in July 2024 with plans to demolish the existing house and build a new one.

They’re planning a four-story home on their property with five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a pool, and a spa.

The planned rebuild will also feature a courtyard, an entertainment room, and a garage with space for three cars.

After a year-long battle with Willoughby Council over their initial plans, Karl and Jasmine have finally received approval to begin renovating.

I’ve always loved this house – it was originally built way back in the 60s! One of the best things about it is the view – it looks right over the north side of Castlecrag. Plus, it had a really useful little flat attached, completely separate with its own entrance and bathroom. It was perfect for guests or even renting out.

The plans reveal the completed home will have a modern and impressive design, with plenty of space, French windows, and a unique circular staircase inside.

Oh my gosh, they’re building this incredible outdoor terrace – it’s going to be SO chic! And the stairs leading up to it? Perfect! But honestly, it’s the details that are killing me – the ceilings are going to be soaring, and the windows… they’re going to be slanted! It’s going to be absolutely breathtaking, a total architectural masterpiece!

A long garden stretching across the front of the house will provide a wonderful space for Karl, his wife Jasmine, and their young daughter to enjoy.

Karl and Jasmine, along with their children, divide their time between Sydney and Queensland.

Let’s talk family! Besides his youngest, Harper, Karl is also a proud dad to three grown-up kids – Jackson, who’s 26, Willow, 20, and River, 19. They’re from his previous marriage to Cassandra Thorburn, and it’s lovely to see him blending a full life!

Jasmine’s family are based in the Sunshine State, while Karl began his journalism career there.

The couple married in December 2018 in San José del Cabo, Mexico.
