911 returns to the Hotshots set in season 8, episode 7 (Preview)
As a devoted 911 fan, I can’t help but feel like the show is playing with my emotions. The last episode left me reeling, and while I’m grateful for the brief respite, I’m now bracing myself for another emotional rollercoaster.
Following that intensely emotional episode of 911 recently, it’s hard to envision returning to a typical episode without shedding tears. Yet, the upcoming episode seems less heavy in contrast to the unexpected separation event that unfolded within it. Nevertheless, given the way the last episode unfurled, it’s likely to catch us off guard once more, as the preview for season 8, episode 7 suggests a focus on Evan Buckley’s storyline.
It seems like the promotion transports us to the “Hotshots” filming location, a place where Bobby used to work before rejoining the team. There, one of the firefighter actors gets trapped and dangles from a ladder.
What will happen when 911 returns to the Hotshots set on season 8, episode 7?
In the advertisement, there’s a quick scene where Buck appears to gaze at a ladder, hinting that he could be recalling the incident when he got struck by lightning. However, it might just be a distraction or a misdirection (red herring). In episode 6, a phone call at a well seemed similar to “Eddie Begins,” but the focus was actually on Chimney instead.
In this upcoming episode, we’ll delve into how the character Buck navigates his unexpected split with Tommy, an event that left many viewers, including us, surprised. Regardless of how it unfolds for Buck, we fervently hope that the series will handle him with sensitivity as he readjusts to being single once more. Actor Oliver Stark has posted a photo from the episode on his stories, hinting at some heartwarming moments between Uncle Buck and Jee-Yun Buckley Han. These sweet exchanges might provide a momentary respite for our own hearts that are still healing.
Despite the synopsis being provided, it doesn’t offer many details for us to delve into. It hints at the scene in the promo where the 118 team returns to the “Hotshots” set, which may bring up memories for Buck since he has recently faced the death of someone associated with that location. Given his current emotional state, such a memory might be distressing. However, they could also take an unexpected turn, considering the show is approaching its midseason finale before the holiday break.
Time-wise, it’s been approximately a year since we last saw him, and if someone is seen hanging from a ladder in such a way, they might be coping well. However, considering the latest developments, for how long can he maintain the appearance of being okay?
When Athena is assigned a rookie to mentor, she begins to question her own abilities. Meanwhile, Bobby and the 118 return to the set of “HOT SHOTS” following a 911 call.
It seems she may find herself in a mentoring role for a novice, causing Athena to ponder her own capabilities. Given some of her questionable choices at work, it remains uncertain how this will impact her. Beyond that, there’s a great deal we’re yet to learn about the direction the story might take.
911 airs Thursdays on ABC at 8/7c. You can catch up the next day on Hulu.
