90s Pop Star’s Shocking Transformation
34 years after I ruled the music charts with my smashing hit, I’ve undergone such a remarkable transformation that it might be hard for some to recognize me as the same ’90s popstar.
53-year-old artist was part of the legendary dance duo known as 2 Unlimited, which gained immense popularity and managed to sell an astounding 18 million records globally.
The first single by the Belgian-Dutch pair, titled “Get Ready For This,” solidified their place in music lore when it became a staple soundtrack for sports events across the globe, as reported by Pitchfork.
The band put out forty-five tunes, four studio collections, and disbanded in 1996; however, they reunited for a comeback in 2009.
At the height of her professional success, the celebrity didn’t shy away from trying new looks, often seen rocking various hairstyles such as braids and dreadlocks.
However now she she has made a big departure from her edgy style, but can you guess who it is?

That’s right! It’s Anita Doth.
Together with rapper Ray Slijngaard, the singer-songwriter formed half of the duo 2 Unlimited. They achieved sixteen global chart successes and had two albums reach number one in the UK.
1993 saw their song “No Limit” climb high in music charts, and “Get Ready For This” peaked at number two in the United Kingdom charts. This success resulted in their appearance on the popular British music show, Top of the Pops, in 1991.
They’ve managed to sell a staggering 18 million records globally, with their tunes also gaining significant popularity as themes for matches in the NBA and NHL within the United States.
Now Anita has bid goodbye to her braids and bold style choices for a more understated style.
As she lets her hair fall into its natural ringlets, she’s moved on from her previous wardrobe of crop tops and leather corsets.
Or,
She’s now letting her hair flow in its natural curls, and she no longer wears skimpy crop tops or leather corsets.
2 Unlimited disbanded in 1996, but they reunited in 2009 under a new name, Ray & Anita. This was because their producer, Jean-Paul de Coster, reportedly refused them the right to perform as 2 Unlimited since he owned the copyright of the band.
In 2016, they separated to allow Anita more focus on her individual musical path. Anita was subsequently replaced by Kim Vergouwen, and currently, Michele Karamat is still performing alongside rapper Ray in tours.

As a solo artist she has released numerous singles as well as a 2000 album Reality.
In 2010, Anita learned she had breast cancer, a health challenge she has personally fought against since then.
During her cancer treatment, which included chemotherapy, the star persisted in performing alongside Ray. In 2011, she declared herself cancer-free.
She prefers to keep her personal matters quiet, yet she gave birth to a daughter in February 2014. She had announced her pregnancy on Twitter back in November 2013.
