They unintentionally bring Frankenstein’s monster to life, turning what started as a normal night into a desperate struggle to stay alive.

Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell announced their new movie while appearing on the talk show Good Sports. Kel was guest-hosting for Kevin Hart at the time, and they were joined on set by an actor dressed as Frankenstein’s monster to make the big reveal.
Thompson later shared that she and Kel have always enjoyed collaborating, and this project seemed like a great opportunity to combine familiar themes with something new. They’re looking forward to putting a unique spin on a classic monster tale and having fun in the process.

Mitchell explained that reuniting feels effortless, allowing them to build on what fans already enjoy while also exploring fresh ideas. He described the experience as both humorous and nerve-wracking, but ultimately very exciting.
Though a director hasn’t been announced yet, Jonah Feingold, who wrote At Midnight, will be writing the screenplay, and filming is scheduled to begin this summer.
According to co-producer John Ryan Jr., the upcoming movie Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein will blend the comedic style of Shaun of the Dead with the mystery and fun of Scooby-Doo, promising a lot of laughs and silly adventures.
Kenan and Kel came back together in 2023 to make Good Burger 2, a sequel to their original movie from 23 years earlier. They both reprised their famous roles as Dexter Reed and Ed.
Thompson recently discussed a past rift with his comedy partner, telling NBC’s Today Show that it started as simply drifting apart, eventually leading to a lack of communication – what people generally consider a falling out.
We initially started exploring our own separate identities, needing a break from always working as a pair. We both began our careers as solo artists, and this felt like a natural step to rediscover that independence.
Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein is yet to confirm a release date.
