90s comedy villain looks unrecognizable on rare outing at 72… can you guess who?

A famous comedic actor known for playing a funny villain in the Austin Powers movies was seen in Los Angeles.

Oh my gosh, you would not believe it! Seeing her in person, she looked absolutely nothing like Frau Farbissina! I mean, that character was all about yelling and being super intense, but she was so…normal! It was amazing and totally threw me for a loop. I just kept expecting her to start barking orders, but she was just…her! It was wild.

And as it turns out making people laugh is in her blood – she is the daughter of a comedian. 

Not only is she hilarious, but she’s also a highly respected actress, having been nominated for two Emmy Awards.

She’s an actress who’s appeared on shows like iCarly, and she’s also a voice actor, having worked on animated series like American Dad and The Great North.

It’s Mindy Sterling!

On Tuesday, Sterling was seen taking a walk in Los Angeles. She wore a jacket, loose-fitting jeans, and sneakers to stay warm in the cool weather.

She looked worlds away from the role she is beloved for – that of Frau Farbissina.

Verne Troyer became well-known for playing Dr. Evil’s sidekick, Mini-Me, in the Austin Powers movies, starting with International Man of Mystery in 1997 and continuing in the sequels The Spy Who Shagged Me and Goldmember.

The actress performed with Mike Myers – known for playing characters like Austin Powers and Dr. Evil – during a Groundlings show called Cooking with Gas.

She recalled on the Multiple Women Talking podcast last year that he opened the door to her next destination.

While Myers ‘really wanted’ Sterling for the part, she still had to audition for it.  

‘I had to audition for it because I was a nobody,’ she said. ‘There were other women.’

He was really into me, apparently because he found me hilarious. He actually told me the best thing about me was that I didn’t know much. I remember that conversation as I went into the audition.

When the podcaster pointed out it was a great honor, she responded, ‘I know, and I’ll always be thankful for him.’

I recall walking in and seeing a couple of girls who, looking back, didn’t seem right for the situation, though I might be misremembering things.

While that may be her best known role, she has an impressive acting resume nonetheless.

Sterling has been in numerous TV shows and movies, including ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’, ‘A.N.T Farm’, ‘Desperate Housewives’, ‘iCarly’, and ‘Reno 911!’.

2017 was a significant year for Sterling, as she received two Emmy nominations.

Sterling was nominated for Outstanding Actress for her work in the short-form comedy and drama series Con Man and secs & EXECS.

Born to actor and comedian Dick Sterling and a dancer, Sterling is now a mother herself, raising her son, Max Gadson, with her former husband, Brian Gadson.

You know, as someone who’s observed a lot of families, I think it’s easy to forget what really matters when a parent happens to be famous. From my perspective, and what I’ve heard from those growing up with celebrity parents, it really boils down to this: they’re just parents. It’s not a complicated dynamic, at least not how it should be. A good parent, any parent, believes in their child and is genuinely happy for their successes. That’s what I’ve seen time and time again – unwavering support and pride when their kids achieve something special.
