Things are really getting interesting on 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days, and it’s great that this season will continue into 2026. While there’s already plenty of drama with the couples we’ve been following, the biggest surprise of the latest episode actually came from Rick and Trisha.

I didn’t pay much attention to Rick Van Vactor when this season of 90 Day Fiancé began. His relationship with Trisha from Madagascar initially seemed like a typical story of an older man finding a younger partner abroad. However, things quickly became complicated when Rick revealed that Trisha had been unreachable for five days, and he admitted he wanted to know what she was doing during that time.

Trisha Explained Why She Went Quiet For A While

Rick was confused and upset that Trisha hadn’t returned his calls for five days, and even seemed to be intentionally ignoring him. She explained she’d been dealing with a lot: her ex-boyfriend was robbed and wrongly accused her of being involved, and her brother was in trouble after accidentally hitting someone with his scooter. Her family had been focused on helping the injured person and working with the police to avoid charges for her brother. It was a really stressful time for her.

I was really puzzled why she wouldn’t just answer the phone and talk to anyone, even a stranger. Trisha said Rick would assume she was fabricating the whole story to try and get money from him if she suddenly brought it up. He bought that explanation, though honestly, it still felt a little weak to me. But after I found out why Rick was so desperate to know, it didn’t bother me as much.

Rick’s Explanation For Why He Wanted To Know Made My Stomach Turn

Okay, so after Rick realized the initial thing he was stressing about wasn’t a problem, he confessed to the cameras he had something else he needed to get off his chest. He’d completely jumped to the conclusion that Trisha was seeing someone else, and honestly, it made him do something a little crazy. He reached out to an old flame who now lives in Colombia and actually started making plans to fly down and see her!

Jenny from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way recently shared news about where she and Sumit are living, and it’s a bit confusing.

Trisha reconnected with Rick before his trip to Colombia, but he still believed she had been unfaithful, so he went ahead with the journey. While there, he admitted to behaving like a couple with his former girlfriend and having a physical relationship with her on multiple occasions.

I was really disturbed to hear about this, and honestly, I think it’s worse than what happened with Jasmine Pineda and Gino Palazzolo. What made it even more upsetting was that Rick didn’t seem sorry for his actions, and actually boasted about his past. He didn’t seem to care about hurting anyone, only about potentially losing Trisha.

The large age difference between Rick and Trisha on 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days already made me question their relationship, but the news about Rick cheating is really concerning. I thought Sheena’s parents taking Forrest’s money was going to be the most dramatic moment of the season, but it looks like we might see something even worse – possibly more upsetting than Tom Brooks breaking up with Darcey Silva – as Rick is now forced to admit he was unfaithful.
