I’m absolutely thrilled to share that nine more talented actors have joined the stellar cast of Netflix’s adaptation of “Vladimir,” an exhilarating eight-part thriller. Notably, this gripping series will feature none other than Leo Woodall and the brilliant Rachel Weisz in leading roles!
According to Julia May Jonas’s acclaimed novel, which was praised as “terrifically entertaining” by the New York Times, the forthcoming series promises an impressive lineup of actors. John Slattery, Jessica Henwick, and Ellen Robertson are set to portray characters named John, Cynthia, and Sid respectively (as reported by Variety).
Additionally, the ensemble will be graced by Kayli Carter, Miriam Silverman, Mallori Johnson, Matt Walsh, Tattiawna Jones, and Louise Lambert, who will all make regular appearances throughout the series.
In 2022, Jonas saw success with her highly praised novel, and now, she’s working on transforming “Vladimir” into a film production. Interestingly, Jonas will serve as an executive producer, just like Weisz, in this upcoming project.
In the novel, a literature teacher finds herself embroiled in controversy after allegations against her spouse, another professor at the same small university, are made by multiple ex-students.
Simultaneously, the storyteller also finds herself growing intrigued by Vladimir, a young, married novelist who joins the university.

The story’s summary intriguingly hints that as a female character’s life takes an unexpected turn, she grows increasingly fixated on a charismatic new coworker. Filled with tantalizing mysteries, dark wit, and multi-layered personalities, “Vladimir” explores the consequences when a woman determinedly chases her desires to make her imaginings come true.
The project has drawn a notable ensemble, and most recently, Sharon Horan – an actor and screenwriter from “Bad Sisters” – has been brought on board as one of the executive producers for the project, under her production company Merman.

Horgan enthusiastically declared his affection for Julia’s writing right from the start, as soon as the project was officially announced in March.
I’m overjoyed and brimming with anticipation as Merman helps breathe life into Vladimir, collaborating with Small Dog in this venture. The opportunity to work with Netflix and have Rachel involved is simply exhilarating, a clear reflection of the exceptional quality of the scripts we are bringing to fruition.
The acclaimed filmmaking team, Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, known for their work on shows like ‘Fleishman Is in Trouble’ and ‘The Four Seasons’, have been contracted to direct not just one, but three episodes of the upcoming series ‘Vladimir’. They will also take up executive producer roles.
Netflix’s Vladimir is yet to receive a release date.
