I was already getting so excited for TV in 2026, and March was incredible! We got some amazing shows like the really gripping horror series, Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, on Netflix, and finally, The Pitt – that fantastic medical drama – came to the UK. But honestly? If you thought March was good, April is going to blow you away!
Richard Gadd, the creator and star of the popular Netflix series Baby Reindeer, has a new drama coming to the BBC. Plus, the critically acclaimed comedy Hacks will return for its fifth and final season in April. Here’s a look at all the must-watch TV shows coming in April 2026.

Half Man
Premiering on BBC iPlayer in the UK on 24 April, and later airing on BBC One and BBC Scotland.
Richard Gadd and Jamie Bell, a BAFTA-winning actor, play Ruben and Niall, two close friends who became like brothers after meeting during a tough time in their teens. They aren’t actually related by blood.
Half Man tells the story of a deep connection between two people over three decades. Mitchell Robertson and Stuart Campbell play Niall and Ruben in their younger years, showing how their relationship develops. The series will delve into themes of brotherhood, violence, and the complexities of friendships between men.
Gadd explained to GQ that his new series delves into the roots and development of unhealthy masculinity. He’s interested in understanding why men find such strong connection and comfort in each other’s company, and also why the consequences of harmful behavior within those bonds can be so severe.

Bergerac, season 2
Arriving on 16 April on U and U&DRAMA.
Damien Molony will return as the intricate detective Jim Bergerac for another season of crime-solving, after a highly praised first season that earned a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Zoë Wanamaker, Robert Gilbert (known from Big Boys), and Chloé Sweetlove (The Crow Girl) are also confirmed to reprise their roles in season two of Bergerac.
The show’s summary indicates that in the next season, Bergerac will be “beginning to rebuild his life.”
So, Jim’s actually starting to date again, and Kim (Sweetlove) is really supportive of it, which is awesome because it’s a huge deal for him. But then he meets this woman, Nicola (Camilla Beeput), who’s visiting Jersey, and they really hit it off! I was thinking, ‘Maybe this is finally his chance at something real!’ But, of course, just as things are looking up, he gets thrown right back into another crazy case…

The Testaments
Arriving to Disney+ on 8 April.
Fifteen years after the events of The Handmaid’s Tale, comes The Testaments, a much-awaited spinoff series. Like the original, it’s based on the novel of the same name by Margaret Atwood.
Critics have called The Testaments a coming-of-age story, focusing on young women in Gilead and their struggles with the difficult future they face.
The new series will focus on Agnes, June Osborne’s daughter, who was separated from her mother at the start of The Handmaid’s Tale. She’s now older and will be a central character in this next story.

Hacks, season 5
Arriving to Sky and NOW in the UK from 9 April.
Currently one of the funniest shows on television, Hacks centers on the complicated relationship between Deborah Vance, a celebrated but aging comedian (played by Jean Smart), and Ava Daniels, her young and often frustrated writer (Hannah Einbinder).
Okay, so Hacks is coming back for its last season and I’m already bummed! It’s picking up right after that crazy cliffhanger with Deborah’s fake death – her fans are seriously heartbroken, and honestly, it’s a mess. But knowing this show, I’m bracing myself for a rollercoaster of emotions – I’m gonna laugh so hard I cry, and then probably cry some more, all at the same time. It’s gonna be wild!

Unchosen
Arriving to Netflix on 21 April.
The upcoming psychological thriller focuses on Rosie, played by Molly Windsor, who finds herself torn between her troubled marriage and a captivating stranger – a man hiding from the police. Their complicated connection unfolds within the secretive world of a cult that Rosie and her family are deeply involved in.
Alongside the previously announced cast, Unchosen also stars Asa Butterfield, known for Sex Education, Siobhan Finneran from Happy Valley, Christopher Eccleston of Doctor Who, and Fra Fee who appeared in Prime Target.

Criminal Record, season 2
Premiering on Apple TV on 22 April.
Detectives Daniel Hegarty, played by Peter Capaldi, and June Lenker, played by Cush Jumbo, will return for a second season. They’ll be forced to work together again, this time investigating the fallout from a deadly stabbing that occurred at a political rally.
The cast is growing with some great new additions, including Dustin Demri-Burns from Slow Horses, Luca Pasqualino of Our Girl, Luther Ford from King & Conqueror, Lyndsey Marshal known for Death in Paradise, and Peter Sullivan from The Iris Affair.

Man on Fire
Arriving to Netflix on 30 April.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, known for his roles in Watchmen and Wonder Man, will star as John Creasy in a fresh take on AJ Quinnell’s 1980s novel, Man on Fire. The story was previously adapted into a popular 2004 film starring Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning.
John is a former Special Forces mercenary who was once incredibly capable and resourceful, even in the harshest environments. Now, he’s struggling with severe PTSD and personal issues.
The story goes on to say that even as he tries to begin again, he’ll face new challenges and have to struggle more intensely than before.

Euphoria, season 3
Premiering on Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK on 13 April.
After a four-year wait, the highly anticipated third season of HBO’s Euphoria is almost here! Many fans wondered if it would ever happen, but we’re finally getting back to Rue’s story, picking up some time after the dramatic events of the season two finale.
The upcoming season will also feature returning stars Hunter Schafer as Jules, Jacob Elordi as Nate, Sydney Sweeney as Cassie, Colman Domingo as Ali, and Alexa Demie as Maddy. Eric Dane, who sadly passed away recently, also appears in the season, having completed filming for his role as Cal Jacobs.

Margo’s Got Money Troubles
Premiering on Apple TV on 15 April.
The new drama has received rave reviews since it premiered at the SXSW Film & TV Festival in March, and currently has a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Apple describes the new series, Margo’s Got Money Troubles, starring Elle Fanning and Michelle Pfeiffer, as a funny, touching, and dramatic story about family. The show follows Margo (Fanning), a young woman who leaves college to pursue writing. She’s the daughter of a former Hooters waitress (Pfeiffer) and a retired professional wrestler (Nick Offerman).
So, the story’s about this woman who’s suddenly got a lot on her plate – a newborn baby, bills are stacking up, and she’s running out of options to cover them. It sounds like a really tough situation, and I’m already wondering how she’s going to manage. It feels like a game where you’re constantly resource-managing, but with real-life consequences!
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant, full-colour 100-page magazine dedicated to Harry Styles, is now available! You can find it at newsstands or purchase it online.
