9-1-1: Nashville Casts Power Book III, Harlem, & The Holdovers Actors
The spinoff of the popular show 9-1-1, titled 9-1-1: Nashville, has brought on four new main cast members for its inaugural season. As per a report from Deadline, these additions come after the release of the series’ first promotional material. Hailey Kilgore (known from Power Book III: Raising Kanan), Juani Feliz (from Harlem), Michael Provost (The Holdovers), and newcomer Hunter McVey have all been recruited to join the show, with each of them being designated as series regulars. They will be joining an already impressive cast that includes Nashville’s lead Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, and LeAnn Rimes.
Based on the report, Kilgore is slated to portray Taylor, a character who is both a firefighter and an exceptional singer, in the series 9-1-1: Nashville. Feliz will take on the role of Roxie, an individual who loves danger and was previously a trauma surgeon. Provost will join the cast as Ryan, a contemporary cowboy and firefighter. Completing the new additions is McVey, who will play Blue, a troubled bad boy with a past as a firefighter. The series is described as an action-packed drama that follows our brave first responders and their family stories of power and glamour, set against the backdrop of one of America’s most vibrant and diverse cities.
What The Casting News Means For The 9-1-1: Nashville Spinoff
It’s Full Steam Ahead For The Spinoff
The news indicates that the cast of 9-1-1: Nashville is getting a fresh infusion of young talent, as its initial group of seasoned actors has been established. The ensemble is shaping up well, but further casting announcements are expected in due time. Given that the spinoff received a direct-to-series order back in February, the production team must work quickly to have all the actors on board before filming begins this summer in Nashville, Tennessee.
It’s evident that ABC is eagerly anticipating this spinoff to take over the slot previously occupied by “9-1-1: Lonestar,” which was axed after five seasons and concluded this year on Fox. Since shifting from Fox in 2023, the original 9-1-1 has been a massive ratings success for ABC, and this will mark the first time they’ve had the opportunity to produce their own spinoff. Unlike “Lonestar,” which stayed at Fox until its cancellation, there were whispers that it might migrate to ABC as well, but instead, ABC opted to develop a fresh spinoff concept.
Our Take On The 9-1-1 Nashville Casting News
It Will Lean Into Music As Much As First Responders
Based on the recent casting updates for “9-1-1: Nashville,” it appears this spinoff is planning to fully embrace its nickname and reputation as Music City, the world’s hub for country music. Alongside Rimes and Williams-Paisley, who is married to renowned country artist Brad Paisley, Hailey Kilgore also brings her musical talents to the table. Given her background and character description, it looks like singing will be a significant element in her storyline. It will be intriguing to watch how “9-1-1: Nashville” manages to blend the mood between this series’ developing music drama and its first responder drama aspects.
