80s Sex Symbol Turned Chandler Bing’s Mom: Guess Who?
She enjoyed a sparkling career in television, appearing on shows like Dallas, General Hospital, Days of Our Lives, and Falcon Crest, and was also known as one of the most admired sex symbols during the 1980s.
In the realm of ’80s television, I’ve always been captivated by the iconic charm of this veteran actress. With her cascading, voluptuous golden curls and an impeccable sense of style, she embodied the epitome of glamour on screen. Yet, it wasn’t just her stunning looks that drew me in; it was the allure of her villainous yet seductive characters that left a lasting impression.
Before becoming a star, she initially made guest appearances on shows like Kojak, Happy Days, and The Love Boat during the 1970s.
In the later stages of her acting journey, she became well-known for portraying Nora Bing, the mother of Chandler (Matthew Perry’s character) in the beloved television series Friends. This role came years after she had acted alongside the actor’s father in Flamingo Road.
These days, she’s still flaunting her signature blonde hair and looks as glamorous as ever.
Can you guess who it is?

It’s Morgan Fairchild!
The iconic figure known for their allure recently was photographed exuding elegance as they headed towards a professional engagement in the San Fernando Valley, at an age of 75.
A while back, the actress was recently seen out and about in Los Angeles, wearing a Grateful Dead T-shirt, a face mask, and black leggings, running some errands.
In the year 1967, Fairchild kicked off his acting journey by standing in for Faye Dunaway on set while the movie Bonnie and Clyde was being filmed.
Next came the daytime soap opera Search for Tomorrow on which she appeared from 1973 until 1977.
Later, the brunette model appeared in minor parts on popular television shows such as Kojak, Happy Days, Police Woman, The Bob Newhart Show, and several installments of CBS Radio Mystery Theater.
Afterward, the redhead glamour model made guest appearances on hit TV shows like Kojak, Happy Days, Police Woman, The Bob Newhart Show, and various episodes of CBS Radio Mystery Theater.

In 1978, when she debuted as Jenna Wade on Dallas, her acting career really took flight. Shortly after, she appeared with Robin Williams on Mork & Mindy, and by 1980, she landed the role in Flamingo Road.
Later on, Fairchild took up minor roles in shows like Hotel, Simon & Simon, Magnum, P.I., and The Love Boat. Her breakthrough came when she starred in the prime-time soap opera Paper Dolls, which was a huge success.
Then she hit the big time.
1985 saw her become part of the Falcon Crest soap opera’s cast, portraying the character Jordan Roberts for a full season. By 1989, she had teamed up with Candice Bergen in Murphy Brown.
In those comedy movies – Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult (1994), Holy Man (1998), and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007) – she took on the role of playing herself.
Fairfield won a younger audience when she starred as Chandler Bing’s mother, Nora, on Friends.
She shared memories of the late actor after he died from a ketamine overdose in 2023.

‘I wish he had reached out for help more,’ she told E! News at the time.
In my interactions with him, whether it was frequent or infrequent, I made an effort to support him during the periods when he encountered certain difficulties.
In addition to working together, Fairchild collaborated with John Bennett Perry (Matthew Perry’s dad) on television series such as Flamingo Road and Falcon Crest.
She mentioned that she had known his father from before, and the unfortunate death of a child, someone who was exceptionally kind, generous, and gifted, was particularly heartbreaking, especially considering all the progress he had been making.
Back in the day, I simply couldn’t miss out on Fairchild’s latest masterpiece – a Lifetime holiday classic titled “Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas”. It was an absolute pleasure to see screen legends like Loni Anderson, Linda Gray, Donna Mills, and the stunning Nicolette Sheridan bring their magic to life on the small screen. Simply unforgettable!
Fairchild was married to Jack Calmes from 1967 to 1973.

starting from 1987, she was in a prolonged romantic involvement with Mark Seiler; she made public the news of his passing in July 2023.
In the same year, it was disclosed that Fairchild had already undergone two covert hip replacement surgeries during that very year.
She revealed to DailyMail.com that following a car accident in 2016, which left one of her hips sprained and tore her labrum socket on the other side, she subsequently underwent surgeries.
In a miraculous turn of events, the Texas resident managed to bounce back from a harrowing health crisis triggered by undetected black mold lurking in her Los Angeles residence. This ordeal led her to put on a significant amount of weight.
Last year, I underwent two hip replacement surgeries, and I must say I’m feeling fantastic! Walking has become my regular routine, which I find provides excellent physical therapy for me.
In 2016, I was involved in a car accident that caused me to strain one hip and, unknown to me at the time, tear the labrum of the socket on the other side as well.
