8 burning questions we need answered in Outer Banks season 4 part 2
As a die-hard fan of Outer Banks who’s been following this show since its debut, I must say that season 4 has been quite a rollercoaster ride for me. I mean, John B and Sarah are doing great, but let’s face it – when things get too smooth in a TV show, it feels like the writers are setting us up for a heartbreak. I’ve been watching shows for decades now, and I can tell you one thing: if they kill off one of the Pogues, it would be a game-changer, and I don’t think that will happen. The show needs to maintain its perfect blend of real issues and good vibes.
The fourth season of “Outer Banks” debuted on October 10th. We’ve held off writing about it as long as we could, but there are numerous questions left unanswered that need to be addressed in the second half of “Outer Banks” season 4.
In comparison, certain questions delve deeper, whereas others seem less significant. Be advised, there may be spoilers, so if you haven’t seen season 4 part 2 of ‘Outer Banks’, it’s time to catch up! Enjoy the viewing!
Kick off our discussion by addressing a major question concerning the central figure of today, JJ Maybank, played by Rudy Pankow.
Why did JJ’s mom give him to Luke Maybank after he was born?
In the concluding part of ‘Outer Banks’ season 4, Luke Maybank (played by Gary Weeks) delivered a shocking revelation to JJ. Earlier, Wes Genrette had written a letter urging JJ to search for his father. However, what truly stunned JJ was when Luke disclosed that he isn’t biologically JJ’s father. Instead, it turns out that JJ is the offspring of Larissa Genrette and Chandler Groff (portrayed by J. Anthony Crane).
At present, many people are wondering about this matter, but the key question seems to be: Why did Larissa choose to relinquish custody of JJ? Was there some information about Chandler or her own family that led her to make such a decision regarding her child?
Although things aren’t entirely clear at the moment, there seems to be a logical explanation for why this event occurred. It now falls upon JJ and Luke to uncover the truth behind this situation.
Could it be possible that Chandler isn’t aware that JJ is his child? Despite being odd around everyone else from the Pogues, one might expect him to show more affection towards JJ if he knew their relationship was father and son.
Is Chandler Groff really JJ’s dad?
If there’s no body, the person isn’t actually dead. That’s rule No. 1 in Outer Banks.
Rule No. 2 is that everyone might be lying.
It’s worth noting that Luke never explicitly revealed who JJ’s real father was. Instead, he hinted at it by saying, “Don’t you think it’s clear?” Then, we see a suspicious glance from Hollis Robinson (played by Brianna Brown) and Chandler on Goat Island or somewhere else, giving off an ominous vibe.
Could it be possible that Chandler is really JJ’s biological father, given all the speculation surrounding JJ’s background? Some even propose the idea that he might be John B’s sibling. Quite an odd thought, isn’t it?
Later, there’s a rumor circulating on Reddit suggesting that Sheriff Shoupe (Callum Moss) behaved strangely when JJ mentioned Larissa Genrette. Could it be possible that Shoupe is actually JJ’s father? Is it common knowledge among people that JJ’s mother is Larissa?
As a dedicated viewer of “Outer Banks,” I’m eagerly anticipating the revelation of JJ’s backstory, especially concerning his parents, in the second half of season 4.
What are Chandler Groff and Hollis Robinson really up to?
Concerning Chandler Groff, as the season concludes, Chandler and Hollis Robinson, the real estate agent involved in swindling Rafe (played by Drew Starkey), are seen gazing at Goat Island from a vantage point. Hollis says to Chandler, “It will be magnificent.
What is going to be glorious? I don’t understand what they’re up to!
It appears that someone is attempting to seize control of Goat Island and the Genrette fortune following Wes’s death, but it’s unclear how JJ fits into this scheme. I suppose that since he’s the only remaining member of the family, he may stand to inherit both Goat Island and the Genrette wealth. However, he would likely have to provide proof of his lineage before any claims can be confirmed.
As a curious fan, I’m still scratching my head about Hollis’ latest venture. What on earth does she need $400,000 from Rafe for? It seems odd that such a substantial amount would only buy a fraction of the island. Are there other investors involved? Or is this all just a clever scheme? I’m left wondering if everything is above board. Could someone please shed some light on this mystery?
Is the Captain someone’s mom?
I usually watch TV shows with subtitles whenever possible, so it wasn’t unexpected that I watched the first part of Outer Banks season 4 with captions too. It’s intriguing to note that one of the new characters in the series is only referred to as “Captain” throughout season 4 part 1. However, even before we learned his name on the show, he was identified as Lightner (Rigo Sanchez) in the subtitles.
It strikes me as odd that the Captain has no known name.
Up until now, we’ve encountered the mothers of Pope and Kie. It’s rumored that Larissa Genrette is JJ’s biological mother, but who knows if the Captain isn’t actually Larissa herself? We just know she “died.” Similarly, Ward Cameron and Big John are also known to have perished, yet they’ve both returned from the dead. Couldn’t the same thing happen with Larissa?
We also have yet to meet Sarah’s mom and John B’s mom, who has actually been referenced in the series already. So, I have a feeling we’re going to meet some moms very soon. Is the Captain one of them? We’ll find out!
Is Rafe, gulp, becoming one of the good guys?
Rafe’s journey in Outer Banks has been quite unusual. Initially, he played the role of the antagonist, but there were moments that made us feel sympathy for him. So, could we be seeing a transformation where he might align with the heroes now?
In the series Outer Banks, Rafe has been making an effort to make amends for some time now. He occasionally tries to help Sarah (Madelyn Cline), Kiara (Madison Bailey), and the Pogues, but he also shows signs of being excessively self-centered and struggling to cope with his father’s demise.
In the fourth season of “Outer Banks,” there appears to be a change in Rafe’s character as he seems to be smitten. Although he may not have acknowledged it, it’s clear that he is deeply in love with Sofia (Fiona Palomo). How will he deal with her deceit? That will likely be his biggest challenge.
It’s clear that Rafe remains unpleasant, without a shadow of a doubt. However, Sofia seems to have a positive influence on him. Since she is a Pogue, it raises questions about his ability to accept romantic love from a Pogue and, in turn, be accepting towards the choices made by his own sister. Can he display kindness towards the Pogues? Only time will tell!
In the second half of season 4 of “The Outer Banks,” it appears that character Rafe will join Sarah and the Pogues on a trip to Morocco. The exact implications of this journey are yet to be revealed!
Will one of the Pogues die in Outer Banks season 4?
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share some thoughts about the buzz online concerning one of the Pogues potentially meeting an end in Outer Banks season 4. Frankly, I can’t help but feel uneasy about how casual some of the romantic relationships have been unfolding in this season so far. Don’t get me wrong; it’s heartening to see the Pogues enjoying their moments of happiness. However, when things are too smooth sailing, it feels like the creative team might be saving a bigger emotional blow for us later on. Here’s hoping that the drama we’ve been missing is just around the corner!
Sarah and John B (Chase Stokes) seem to be thriving quite well, as they’ve started discussing their future plans. It always gives me chills when characters on a TV series start talking about their future, since I understand it often signals a significant development or perhaps a tragic end.
Could the Pogues possibly lose one of their members? Frankly, I find that highly unlikely. Doing so would dramatically alter the show, and that wouldn’t be ideal. The same applies to shows like Stranger Things – losing one of the kids would require a significant shift in the storyline. Outer Banks operates on a delicate balance between real-life struggles and enjoyable atmosphere. Eliminating one of the main characters doesn’t seem beneficial, so I doubt it will occur.
On occasion, I’ve made mistakes, it’s true. And please, let’s not eliminate Rafe. He’s still figuring out the art of love.
Can someone, anyone, please punch Topper and Ruthie?
For the love of all things holy, someone needs to punch Topper (Austin North) in the face again. I’m not really advocating violence, but my guy and his girlfriend, Ruthie (Mia Challis), might be the worst people in the Outer Banks. They’re single-handedly more villainous in one episode than Ward Cameron was in three seasons.
That’s not totally true, but the point remains.
Lately, Topper was responsible for setting fire to John B’s house, with everyone present at the time. Previously, he had been a bystander when his girlfriend came close to causing harm to Kiara and JJ. Additionally, he has shown a lack of respect towards Sarah. Despite these actions, he continues to be viewed as the victim.
And, yes, I’m aware that John B lost his mind and beat up Topper in season 3.
Will we get to see Rose, Wheezie, or Barry?
Will Rose and Wheezie, members of the Cameron family, make an appearance in Outer Banks season 4 part 2? We noticed a call between Sarah and Rose at the start of Outer Banks season 4, but Rose refused to let Sarah speak with Wheezie over the phone. Additionally, Sarah’s actions have led Rose to believe that she may be responsible for Ward’s death.
It seems she might have gotten something incorrect, but her efforts to care for Wheezie, given their past, are commendable. I have a feeling they’ll cross paths again in the future.
It’s my strong belief that Barry will show up in Outer Banks season 4 eventually. Oh, how much I hope for it! I yearn to witness a reunion between Barry and Rafe. I long to hear, “What do you know, here comes the Country Club,” once again.
In the upcoming part 2 of season 4, The Pogues are embarking on another exciting journey in Outer Banks. Although it seems unlikely that we’ll run into these characters again right now, I certainly hope for a chance to see them somewhere down the line.
Looking forward to discovering the solutions to all these queries once the second half of Outer Banks season 4 premieres on Netflix, November 7th! As always, we’ll be tuning in and discussing our thoughts on the last five episodes of the series.
