7th Heaven and Child’s Play legend who earned Emmy nod before quitting acting makes rare outing… can you guess who?

The lead actor from a famous horror movie and a family-friendly show about a minister was recently seen out and about in Los Angeles, in a rare public appearance.

This actress was a star on the popular show 7th Heaven, which followed the life of a pastor’s family. The show also featured Stephen Collins, who later faced public scandal.

This is quite different from her more famous roles, like in the horror movie Child’s Play, where she portrayed a mother who accidentally gives her son a doll inhabited by the spirit of a murderer.

Early in her career, she received an Emmy nomination for her highly praised performance as Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe.

Her days in front of the camera are long behind her now as she has since quit acting.

A stylish woman, 74 years old, was recently spotted running errands with her husband. Can you identify this iconic figure?

If you guessed Catherine Hicks, you are correct!

Hicks was spotted running errands with her husband Kevin Yagher in Los Angeles on Monday.

Hicks looked fantastic for a simple trip to the bank, wearing a bright red top and with her hair neatly styled.

Hicks had a successful acting career but stepped away from Hollywood to focus on raising her family.

Hicks is an Emmy-nominated actress with a substantial career, having starred in popular films like Child’s Play, Peggy Sue Got Married, She’s Out of Control, and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

Many people recognize her most for her role as Annie Camden on the popular TV show 7th Heaven, which followed the life of a minister, his wife, and their large family.

From 1996 to 2007, she portrayed the wife of Stephen Collins’ character and the loving mother to their large family.

Many fans would like to see the show return, but Hicks thinks a reboot would only work if Collins wasn’t involved.

Looking back, 2014 was a really tough year for Collins. His career essentially came to a halt when he publicly admitted to past inappropriate behavior involving three girls who were minors at the time. It was a difficult situation for everyone involved, and it understandably had a major impact on his professional life.

In October 2014, TMZ released a 2012 audio recording revealing past misconduct. The recording detailed allegations that he had inappropriately touched a minor in 1973 and exposed himself to two other underage girls in 1982 and 1994.

In a 2016 interview with TMZ, Hicks stated that the only way to revive the show would be to kill off Collins’ character.

‘I don’t know. I mean, we’d have to open with Stephen’s coffin,’ she said.

More recently, Hicks flat out rejected the idea of reviving the series.

‘No, no!’ she told TMZ in 2023. ‘The kids grew up and Stephen’s gone and no, no. Let it go.’

I was so excited to read last year in Variety that they were bringing the show back! Even better, Jessica Biel is going to be an executive producer, which means she’s really involved in making it happen. I can’t wait to see what she brings to it!

Hicks no longer acts, having left Hollywood to devote herself to her daughter.

‘I don’t act anymore,’ she told TMZ. ‘I don’t have the tears in me. They’re gone.

I pretended to be a stay-at-home mom before I actually became one. I wasn’t fully present for my daughter when she was young, and now I’m here for her because she didn’t have me then when she needed me.

‘It’s really fulfilling,’ she added.
