70s bombshell once married to Steve McQueen stuns at 85 in rare outing… can you guess who it is?

Enthusiasts of the iconic 1970 movie “Love Story” were abuzz following a seldom-seen public appearance by one of its stars in New Mexico, who radiated vitality and beauty at the age of 85.

In a laid-back look featuring a crimson sweater and denims, the legendary actress, known for her debut role in the 1969 film ‘Goodbye, Columbus’, attracted attention during her daily errands on Tuesday.

Her appearance was quite different from the elegant, red-carpet dresses she used to don alongside her co-stars like Steve McQueen; they were married for five years before parting ways in 1978.

Known for her lengthy, attractive brown tresses, the actress now sports equally captivating silver hair, demonstrating that age has only enhanced her innate charm and grace.

Following her departure from Hollywood in 1978, seeking tranquility outside the public eye and a series of prominent relationships with figures like Robert Evans, Warren Beatty, among others, she remained stylishly ready for the camera during her infrequent appearances.

Can you guess who this timeless star is?

If you guessed Ali MacGraw, you’re right!

1939 saw the birth of MacGraw on April 1st, in the town of Pound Ridge, New York. She later enrolled at Wellesley College where she studied art and English, eventually embarking on a modeling career and working briefly with renowned photographer Richard Avedon before focusing fully on her profession.

1969 marked the commencement of her successful acting journey with Goodbye, Columbus, which led to a prestigious Golden Globe nomination for the category of Best Actress.

Indeed, it’s hard for me to express how deeply I’ve been captivated by the silver screen, but nothing compares to the moment when Ali MacGraw graced our screens as Jenny Cavilleri in Love Story. That performance catapulted her into every home across the nation, and even earned her an Academy Award nomination – moments like these are why I am a film enthusiast at heart!

1972 saw her sharing the screen with McQueen in The Getaway, a role that significantly boosted her reputation as a major player in Hollywood.

MacGraw’s personal life, however, was as turbulent as her career was successful.

In 1973, she tied the knot with McQueen, embarking on a passionate relationship that would be characterized by challenges arising from drug issues.

In 2018, she shared with People that he was generally very appealing, yet there was an undercurrent of risk, a hint of a rebellious spirit in him, as she looked back on their complex connection.

In 1977, the pair parted ways following five tumultuous years marked by both peaks and valleys, three years prior to McQueen’s passing due to cancer.

MacGraw admitted, ‘I often wonder if we could have aged gracefully without the influence of alcohol. There were some amazing times and difficult times too.’

To set the record straight, I’ve never been one to play the victim. Truth be told, there have been moments so delightful they made my heart skip a beat, while others left me feeling as if I’d stumbled into a haunted house.

Despite a peak career, MacGraw stepped away from Hollywood in the late 1970s.

Afterwards, she found a peaceful home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, opting for a quieter lifestyle, although she would occasionally step back into the spotlight for movie and television projects. However, her previous stardom never fully returned.
