7 dramas coming to ITV – including Adrian Dunbar’s highly-anticipated returning detective series
In terms of presenting engaging and enjoyable dramas, ITV truly stands out, as evidenced by its most recent productions from 2025.
Rose Ayling-Ellis’ “Code of Silence” was both captivating and commendable, with the broadcaster’s collection of outstanding productions expanding even further. This impressive lineup includes James Norton’s chilling “Playing Nice”, a series that we appreciated despite its mixed reviews, Martin Clunes’ intense crime drama “Out There”, and the heart-wrenching “A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story”.
But ITV isn’t done there, with plenty left in store for 2025. Here’s what’s still to come:
What to Read Next
Trigger Point, season 3
In a thrilling television series starring Vicky McClure, the character Lana Washington skillfully navigates the world of defusing explosives, taking down crooks, uncovering plots, and revealing hidden agendas.
In a regular flow of dialogue, it could be expressed as: Her chaotic private affairs often mix with her job, resulting in emotionally intense plotlines that reveal the tender side of an ordinarily cold-hearted and distant EXPO agent.
In the third season of this widely-acclaimed series, it’s anticipated that fans can expect more of the same gripping narrative. The summary for the upcoming episode hints at Lana and her team investigating a bomb threat, which turns out to be the beginning of a chilling vendetta.
“Someone is targeting individuals, and demanding revenge,” it adds.

Cold Water
In the made-up Scottish town named Coldwater, the character John, known for his role in “The Walking Dead” as Andrew Lincoln, grapples with an identity dilemma after experiencing a distressing occurrence at a playground leaves him troubled.
As a gamer, I found myself uprooting my family from bustling London and settling in the secluded village of Coldwater, drawn by an intriguing event. Swiftly befriending Tommy, the neighbor who happens to be married to the local vicar, I thought I had stumbled upon a friendly community. However, it became apparent that all was not as it seemed.
Tommy seems to be concealing some shocking truths, making John question the true nature of his recently acquired acquaintance.
Cold Water also stars Broadchurch‘s Eve Myles, as well as Indira Varma.
Cold Water will debut later this year on ITV.
Ridley, season 2
After the heartfelt conclusion, enthusiasts of the series can expect even more captivating criminal cases in store from Ridley. The second season hints at ominous events on the horizon, as suggested by the official summary, which foreshadows a fresh batch of enigmas to unravel.
In a continuation of his role, the retired policeman Alex Ridley, famously portrayed by Adrian Dunbar on “Line of Duty,” still lends his expertise to his former protegee, DI Carol Farman (Bronagh Waugh). He assists her in tackling an array of fresh cases.
As a hardcore gamer, I’m pumped to share that the first season of Ridley is streaming right now on ITVX! The second season is set to drop in the UK later this year, following its successful run in the US. Can’t wait to dive back into this thrilling world!
The Hack
The play titled ‘The Hack’ is a drama centered around the phone-hacking scandal, penned by the esteemed screenwriter Jack Thorne known for his work on ‘Adolescence’, and produced by the same team that brought us the critically acclaimed production ‘Mr Bates vs The Post Office’.
In this gaming world, I step into the shoes of the investigative journalist, Nick Davies, portrayed by none other than David Tennant, as we delve into the gripping seven-part series, The Hack. Alongside me, Robert Carlyle and Toby Jones bring their A-game to the leading roles. And for those who’ve followed my adventures in The Crow Girl, you’ll be thrilled to see Eve Myles and Katherine Kelly reunite on screen once more.
