6 must-watch shows on Disney+ in October 2024

As a parent who has been through countless Halloween seasons, I can confidently say that Disney+ is a lifesaver during October. The platform has always managed to keep both my kids and me entertained with its diverse content, but this year’s offerings are particularly noteworthy.

October is the scariest month of the year. While you want some jumps, you don’t want to worry about the kids having nightmares. The great thing about Disney+ is that it has something for the whole family, and Disney is definitely treating us all to some Halloween-themed content!

Absolutely, you’ll find fresh episodes of “Agatha All Along” and “Ayla and the Mirrors” running all through the month. Interestingly, “Dancing with the Stars” will be broadcasted simultaneously on ABC and Disney+. However, this post is focusing on the new content, and there’s a lot of it to look forward to!

In October 2024, here’s a lineup of 6 exciting shows premiering on Disney+, arranged by their release date. There’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Mickey’s Spooky Stories

Are you searching for something fun to engage preschoolers? Starting October 2nd, five episodes of Disney Junior’s Mickey’s Spooky Stories will be available on Disney+ as well as aired on Disney Junior.

Each episode is a standalone story. We see Witch Mable, Ghost Goofy, and much more. Kids will love their favorite characters being involved in new and exciting scary tales.

Witches: The Truth Behind the Trials

Explore the Salem Witch Trials, a historical event shrouded in myth, by joining this six-part documentary series starting October 3rd. Each episode delves into the real happenings of the 1692 witch hunt and trials through the lens of historians, with some dramatic reenactments to enhance storytelling. However, these reenactments are based on actual events, not fictionalized tales.

Spidey and His Amazing Friends

As a gamer, I can’t contain my excitement as I finally get to dive into the third season of “Spidey and His Amazing Friends” on Disney+! This Disney Junior series is an absolute blast for the young ones, and just like in the previous seasons, each episode presents a unique mission for our friendly neighborhood Spidey.

The Simpsons: The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Are you a fan of those hilarious The Simpsons episodes? If so, get ready for some exciting news! This month, a new one titled “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” is set to air. This episode brings back Sideshow Bob and he’s all set to spread the essence of Halloween in his own unique way, promising a dose of chaos and fun. But remember, with Sideshow Bob around, it’s always a question whether everyone will make it through unscathed!

Don’t miss the latest episode of “The Simpsons” airing on October 11! If you can’t get enough of their zany antics, season 35 will be available on Disney+ later this month. Enjoy!

LEGO Marvel Avengers: Mission Demolition

It’s no secret that both the LEGO Marvel and Star Wars franchises continue to captivate audiences everywhere. So it comes as little surprise that another Marvel series has been announced, this time called “Missions Demolition.” This new series introduces a fresh, young, and ambitious hero in the Marvel universe. Interestingly enough, this character inadvertently sets free a powerful new villain who seeks to eliminate the Avengers once and for all. The series will be released weekly, with its first episode premiering on Thursday, October 18th.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place

The long-awaited comeback is here! “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” brings back Justin Russo, a wizard living among humans, yearning for an ordinary life. His task now is to guide Billie, a budding wizard with immense powers, in managing her abilities. Since she must master them in the human world, the stakes are undeniably high.

Absolutely! You’ll notice several familiar faces from the initial show, with Selena Gomez reprising her role as Alex Russo. In addition to acting, Gomez will also serve as an executive producer for the series. The first eight episodes are scheduled to debut on Disney+ on Halloween, October 30th.

You can tune in to Disney Channel from 8 p.m. ET tonight, but only the first two episodes will be shown. The following day, on Wednesday, episodes 3 and 4 will air. After that, new episodes (two each time) will be broadcast every Friday as the release days shift. This season has a total of 21 episodes.
