6 great shows like Euphoria

As a gamer and binge-watcher who has been through the highs and lows of waiting for new seasons of my favorite shows, I can wholeheartedly vouch for the unique allure that Euphoria holds. The second season’s cliffhanger has made the wait for season 3 feel like an eternity!

Initially, I’d like to point out that there aren’t many TV shows comparable to “Euphoria.” This HBO production stands alone in its class and has yet to be surpassed. Regrettably, we won’t have fresh episodes of this Zendaya-led teen drama for a while. And the suspense left by the season 2 finale certainly isn’t making the wait any more bearable.

Euphoria features Zendaya as Rue Bennett, a young character battling drug addiction following rehab, trying to maintain her sobriety. Initially, Rue’s journey takes center stage in the first season, while we get a glimpse into the lives and issues of other characters. In contrast, the second season broadens the narratives involving Rue’s peers, including Angus Cloud, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Hunter Schafer, and Sydney Sweeney.

As a die-hard fan of “Euphoria”, I can’t contain my excitement as we eagerly await the return of this captivating series! With season 2 concluding on February 27, 2022, it’s safe to say that our craving for more episodes is far from satiated. Though a third season has been greenlit, it seems like we’ll have to wait a while longer before “Euphoria” season 3 graces our screens. In the meantime, here’s an idea: why not dive back into the first two seasons repeatedly? Absolutely! But for those seeking similar themes, I’ve compiled a list of six shows that will help make the wait less excruciating. It won’t magically improve upon “Euphoria’s” brilliance or replace its unique greatness, but it’ll help tide us over until our favorite series returns.

Gossip Girl

First off, let me direct your attention to the original 2007 series of “Gossip Girl”. This isn’t about the recent reboot that’s causing a stir – I suggest you give it a miss. Instead, I’m referring to the highly acclaimed and popular “Gossip Girl” series. Currently, all six seasons are ready for streaming on Max.

This series unfolds around a circle of privileged adolescents studying at an elite high school in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. When they learn that an anonymous blogger known as “Gossip Girl” is exposing their private actions and hidden scandals, their tranquil lives are thrown into chaos. Among the stars gracing the screen are Blake Lively, Kelly Rutherford, Penn Badgley, Chase Crawford, and others.

The Summer I Turned Pretty

Instead of an older series, consider checking out “The Summer I Turned Pretty” on Prime Video. This contemporary drama features Lola Tung, Jackie Chung, Rachel Blanchard among others. At present, there are two seasons available for streaming on Prime Video, with a third one slated for release in 2025. The story revolves around Isabel as she enters her sixteenth year of age. Although Isabel has often felt excluded during previous summers, this time she finds herself at the center of attention, and she truly enjoys it.
