50 Cent Trolls Irv Gotti with Brutal Instagram Post After Music Producer’s Death at 54

50 Cent has targeted Irv Gotti one more time, this time on Instagram, with a harsh post that appears to be poking fun at the music producer’s passing.

For more than two decades, the rapper found himself embroiled in a fierce rivalry with Gotti. Following Gotti’s death at the age of 54, the rapper shared an insensitive memorial message online.

50 Cent, also known as Curtis James Jackson III, posted a picture on Wednesday showing him puffing on a hookah and sitting on a couch beside a gravestone inscribed with the words ‘Rest in Peace’.

‘I’m smoking on dat Gotti pack,’ the rapper wrote, adding, ‘nah God bless him LOL.’

Additionally, he included a picture of Gotti (whose birth name was Irving Lorenzo Jr.) in his post, leaving no doubt that he was discussing the deceased co-founder of Murder Inc.

It’s still a mystery what exactly led to John Gotti’s demise. Previously, though, his representative referred to an incident that occurred in 2024 as a “minor stroke.” This health issue took place approximately 11 months prior to his passing.

Six months ago, it came to light in August that he had experienced a stroke due to his ongoing struggle with diabetes.

Gotti raised concerns at the time when he was pictured using a cane to walk.

According to TMZ, his representative indicated that he was experiencing an improvement in his health, having adopted beneficial changes in his diet and fully recovering from whatever ailment he had been dealing with.

Def Jam has sadly lost one of its most innovative artists in the hip-hop world, as stated by Lyor Cohen, former CEO of Def Jam. ‘He was our lifeline when we were in trouble, always delivering the heat and saving us,’ said Cohen. ‘Irv is from a close-knit family in Queens, and it was a pleasure to have known him. We’ll deeply miss him.’

50 Cent and Gotti’s longstanding conflict dates back to the year 1999. At that time, a confidant of 50 Cent was accused of burglarizing Ja Rule, who was then a prominent artist under Murder Inc., in the neighborhood of Queens.

50 Cent’s fledgling career took a rocky turn when his association with Gotti began on a sour note, following the release of “Your Life’s on the Line” in October, which was explicitly aimed at Ja Rule and Murder Inc. This move marked the beginning of their strained relationship.

In 2000 the feud got physical when Ja Rule and 50 cent had an altercation in an Atlanta nightclub.

50 Cent got stabbed during a fierce altercation between G-Unit and Murder Inc., which took place at the Hit Factory recording studio in New York City, in March of that particular year.

Rapper Black Child later admitted responsibility.

After the event, both Gotti and Ja Rule stated that 50 Cent obtained a restraining order against them, but this assertion has since been met with much skepticism.

In May 2000, 50 cent was shot nine times outside his Grandmother’s home in Queens.

Upon further examination, it appears that I might have been implicated in a plot orchestrated by Kenneth ‘Supreme’ McGriff, a notorious drug lord with connections to both the Gotti and Murder Inc. circles. This supposed retaliation stems from my reference to him in the lyrics of Ghetto Qu’ran.

In 2007, McGriff was given a life sentence for an incident not connected to the shooting, although he wasn’t officially indicted in relation to that specific shooting event.

Over the past two decades, my unyielding fandom has seen this ongoing rivalry unfold, and just last August, it reached a new low. I, an ardent fan, couldn’t help but feel the sting when 50 Cent took aim at Gotti’s health struggles, joking about his health issues after reports emerged of the producer having a stroke and relying on a cane.

Known posthumously as a pioneer in the music industry, this deceased record executive made his mark by co-founding Murder Inc. with his brother Chris Gotti in 1998. However, his influence extended beyond just being a label founder, as he demonstrated exceptional skills as a sought-after producer and songwriter for numerous chart-topping hits by the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Ja Rule, DMX (who later passed away), Ashanti, and an array of other prominent hip-hop and R&B artists.

Gotti played a role in some well-known remixes for Jennifer Lopez, including the I’m Real remix featuring Ja Rule (from 2001). He collaborated with the rapper on writing this remix and also produced it alongside him.

Additionally, he collaborated on both the production and writing of the 2002 remix version of “Ain’t It Funny” by Lopez and Ja Rule. This track was distinct from Jennifer Lopez’s solo hit “Ain’t It Funny” (2001), although they share the same title, leading to some confusion.

In the year 2001, Ja Rule made a leading appearance in his popular song “Always On Time,” with Gotti’s assistance, and this track included guest appearances by Ashanti. The subsequent year saw them working together again on the track “Mesmerize.

Additionally, Gotti contributed to multiple solo tracks by Ashanti, such as “Foolish” from 2002 and “Rain On Me” from 2003.

Back then, I was living and breathing Murder Inc., with Ja Rule and Ashanti on the roster, they were unstoppable! Their chart-topping tracks, along with other smashes, propelled the label to phenomenal success worldwide, moving a whopping 30 million units globally.

Before establishing Murder Inc., Gotti had a career in the Artists and Repertoire (A&R) department at Def Jam Records. It was during this time that he played a crucial role in helping Jay-Z and DMX, who passed away in 2021, secure contracts with the record label.

Before Jay-Z joined the record label, Gotti had already produced “Can I Live” for the rapper’s debut album, Reasonable Doubt, which was released in 1996.

He also worked as executive producer on DMX’s 1997 blockbuster debut It’s Dark And Hell Is Hot.

Starting from 2005, John Gotti and his brother Chris Gotti (originally named Chris Lorenzo) encountered serious legal troubles, primarily due to allegations of money laundering and conspiring to wash money. However, they were found not guilty by a court in December 2005.

Afterward, Gotti dedicated fewer hours to music and the record industry, instead channeling his efforts into reality TV.

In the years spanning from 2007 to 2009, he took charge of the VH1 reality show called Gotti’s Way. A decade afterwards, in more recent times, he was involved in creating the fictional series Tales for BET.

Gotti was also an executive producer on the five-part docuseries The Murder Inc. Story in 2022.

In the documentary, Gotti admitted to dating Ashanti while already married. However, Ashanti did not refute their involvement, but instead stated that she was never his official girlfriend.

2024 saw the producer under fresh examination following a lawsuit filed by an unknown female accuser. She alleged that he had engaged in sexual misconduct against her during a toxic relationship spanning from 2020 to 2022.

Gotti ‘categorically denied’ her accusations at the time.
