50 Cent moves to drop his defamation suit against ex Daphne Joy… after she accused him of rape and physical abuse
As a seasoned journalist with years of experience under my belt, I have witnessed and reported on a multitude of stories that range from the mundane to the downright shocking. However, the recent string of allegations against Sean Combs, also known as P Diddy or Puffy, has left me utterly astounded.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I find myself sharing the news that hip-hop icon 50 Cent has decided to bring an end to the defamation lawsuit he initiated against his former partner, Daphne Joy.
According to TMZ’s report from Tuesday, the well-known musician and actor, who is currently 49 years old, has submitted court papers asking a judge to throw out his ongoing lawsuit.
He originally filed the lawsuit in May after Joy, 37, accused him of ‘raping’ and ‘physically abusing’ her in the past.
She made the claims in an Instagram post after her ex called her a ‘sex worker’ in March in response to a lawsuit filed against the rap mogul Diddy by an alleged victim of sexual abuse amid a slew of damning allegations made against him in recent months.
DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for 50 Cent and Daphne Joy for comment.
50 Cent’s lawsuit dismissal request is expected to gain the approval of the judge managing the case, given its likely acceptance.
To date, it remains unclear what developments or factors might have led the rapper to abandon his legal action against his ex-girlfriend.
50 Cent, known for his hit “In Da Club,” filed a lawsuit against his ex-partner in May, following her disturbing accusations in a detailed post. He also alleged that she portrayed him as an uninvolved parent.
50 Cent denied her allegations in a statement shared with DailyMail.com at the time.
According to a source talking to TMZ, it’s said that Daphne took down the controversial post in an attempt to reestablish peace with the rapper considering their shared son. Similarly, the Power producer appears to have deleted his related posts as well.
As a devoted admirer, I found myself drawn into an online dispute, stemming from the accusations made by music producer Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones in a court case concerning sex trafficking. In this lawsuit, he claimed that Joy was, in fact, a sex worker who had received payment from Diddy, the founder of Bad Boy Records.
She’s rejected the allegation in the lawsuit that she was a prostitute, instead labeling it as an attempt to tarnish her reputation.
50 Cent’s pursuit of sole custody over our shared pre-teen boy had me reeling, and I felt compelled to voice my concerns publicly, stating that he had allegedly been violent towards me.
In bold text against a black background on Instagram, Joy confronted her ex: ‘Instead of dwelling on the past, let’s shine light on your actual harmful acts towards me – rape and physical abuse. No longer will you be my oppressor; my faith will take care of you from now on. You have irreparably tarnished any chance I had for viewing you as a father.’
She started by saying, “Curtis James Jackson,” speaking directly to him using his full name. “To you, everything is a jest until our security is threatened, and that’s precisely what’s happening right now. Your actions are causing genuine destruction, panic, and disorder in people’s lives. Can you imagine if Sir were the one being arrested? For no reason at all,” she penned down.
As a devoted parent, I relocated to New York with the hope that it would provide you with the chance to be a father to our son. However, during the two years we lived less than a mile apart, you only managed to see him ten times. I’m exhausted from maintaining an image of you for our son, one that you haven’t truly earned yet.
‘From now on, let’s concentrate on your genuine acts of violence towards me, such as rape and physical abuse. You are no longer my oppressor, and it’s up to my God to deal with you from here. Your false claims against me have destroyed any remaining hope I had for our family to stay together. You have hurt us deeply, possibly beyond repair.’
Jackson’s spokesperson issued a statement on DailyMail.com, refuting the claims: “Given the troubling allegations in court documents concerning Daphne Joy, who is the mother of my 12-year-old child, Sire, I have taken all required legal measures to safeguard him.
Although 50 Cent labeled his son as ‘twelve’ in his his statement, Sire was only 11 at the time.
‘The most recent false and baseless accusations by Daphne Joy are clearly in response to my decision to seek sole custody of my son. My son Sire is my main priority and keeping him in a safe environment is my only focus at this time,’ he said.
50 Cent appears to have addressed his former partner in an Instagram post, seemingly responding to her comments: “You thought moving a significant distance away would give us another chance at having a baby together, but I was occupied. So you moved back, and then began receiving funds from Brother Love. Now we find ourselves here, with a situation reminiscent of a young woman offering services.
According to sources, Joy deleting the post is unrelated to 50 Cent’s legal action.
It was claimed there has been been no settlement, and the rapper is moving forward with the case.
DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for 50 Cent and Daphne Joy for comment.
50 Cent stated in documents submitted in May (and later acquired by TMZ), that Joy’s surprising social media post was likely due to the news that he intended to fight for full custody of their son, Sire.
He mentions that following Joy being implicated in the Jones lawsuit against Diddy, he chose to pursue full custody, and further claims that Joy reacted by posting accusations of abuse against him.
50 Cent’s lawsuit alleges that Joy’s social media post garnered over 22,000 likes, resulting in him enduring abusive online remarks. Furthermore, it claims this incident has significantly harmed his professional standing and impacted his child custody proceedings negatively.
In the documents, the rapper has attached a letter he had his lawyers send to Joy on April 2, demanding a retraction.
In my perspective, she chose not to comply, and according to 50 Cent, her legal team made a counterproposal that I find quite intriguing. They proposed that I should pay her a substantial amount of money, withdraw my custody case, and in return, she would remove the post. To me, this seems like an attempt at extortion, given its clear implications.
50 Cent is filing a lawsuit against Joy for making harmful statements (defamation) and is requesting compensation over $1 million, as well as a court injunction to remove the offending post and prevent further similar remarks.
50 Cent labeled Joy as an individual who works in the sex industry on March 5th, in a post on Instagram, and also shared a picture from 2021 of Diddy with Joy taken at Miami Beach. He accused her of seeking financial aid from the 54-year-old rapper-turned-entrepreneur after he rejected her advances.
50 Cent seems to have shared a picture of Diddy and Joy by the pool, highlighting their apparent camaraderie in his social media post.
The rapper, known as Curtis Jackson III, wrote in his caption that you relocated a mile away with the intention of starting another family together, but he found himself occupied at that time.
He went on to claim that she then turned to Diddy for support after he rebuffed her.
After returning, you began getting funds from a person named Brother Love (who was previously known as Sean but later changed his middle name to Love). Presently, we find ourselves in a situation where you are involved in sex work, he remarked.
50 Cent concluded his post on an odd note by tagging his cognac and champagne labels.
‘Delusional,’ Joy simply wrote in a comment on the post.
He returned with another Instagram post that appeared to allude to the lawsuit naming Joy as a sex worker.
The hip-hop artist shared a picture featuring himself, boasting that his “Final Lap Tour” is projected to rank among the top three highest earning rap tours ever.
‘Whistle while you work guys, that’s my theme for today,’ he began his caption.
He said, “I earned all this wealth, but I choose to abstain from intimacy with a sex worker. I have no need for it,” he continued, also mentioning his alcohol brands and the account for his upcoming tour.
50 Cent’s reaction followed the sensational allegations that the woman who gave birth to his child is a person known as a ‘sex worker’.
50 Cent, who used to post on Twitter, recently wrote: “I wasn’t aware that you were an escort…you little escort. LOL…This situation seems like it could be a film.
50 Cent, known for hits like “In Da Club” and “P.I.M.P.”, shared a post that included a link to his merchandise shop along with two images showing him puffing on a big cigar, sheltering himself with an umbrella next to a Cadillac SUV.
This week, Joy found themselves involved in a lawsuit filed by an accuser of sexual misconduct, who is going up against artist Diddy. A series of serious accusations have been leveled against Joy in the past few months.
50 Cent (Curtis Jackson) was the prominent music figure who publicly commented when reports surfaced earlier this year of a significant police operation, linked to an investigation into sex trafficking, at Diddy’s residences.
This week, 50 Cent shared on platform X: ‘Now it’s not just Diddy who did something wrong, it’s Diddy who has done things that others don’t typically do unless they are in a sticky situation.’ The rapper also announced his intention to fund a documentary about these allegations. Diddy, however, has firmly denied all claims of misconduct.
Currently, Diddy is dealing with several allegations of sexual misconduct, among them is a lawsuit filed by Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones, who used to work as a record producer for him.
He filed a lawsuit against the rapper claiming he was ordered to recruit sex workers and have sex with them for the star’s pleasure, and has hundreds of hours of video documenting Diddy’s ‘serious illegal activity’ between 2022 and 2023.
50 Cent’s ex-girlfriend, Daphne Joy, is alleged by Jones to have received regular payments from Diddy for sexual services during the time they were together (2011-2012).
In the detailed 73-page legal document, Jones alleges that Diddy engaged in a year of unwanted and persistent touching, specifically targeting Jones’s lower back area.
Daphne Joy, a well-known figure on the platform OnlyFans, was previously romantically involved with 50 Cent and is the mother of their child, Sire, who turns 11 this coming September in 2012.
Sir clinched a $700,000 deal as the spokesperson for the kid-friendly headphones brand, Kidz Safe, even before he reached preschool age.
Upon our separation, I was accused by my partner of physical abuse – an allegation that the musician commonly referred to as ‘Fiddy’ firmly denies.
Since then, 50 Cent has regularly commented on a purported relationship between Diddy and Joy.
The main actor from the movie “Get Rich or Die Tryin'” has also been vocal on social media about his feud with another prominent rapper and the increasing legal disputes that could potentially bring down Diddy’s business empire.
On Instagram, he posted what seemed like a promotional picture for an original documentary series titled ‘Did Diddy Do It?’, hinting at funding an investigation into the startling accusations.
The unnamed Diddy documentary is currently being worked on by G-Unit Film and Television, with Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson overseeing production, according to a representative of both the rapper and G-Unit Film/TV. This information was communicated in a statement shared with Billboard.
As a devoted supporter, I’m excited to share that any earnings derived from this documentary, produced by G-Unit Film & Television, will be directed towards supporting survivors of sexual assault and rape.
Despite improving relations following Joy’s involvement in the lawsuit, the two men have consistently exchanged barbs since Jackson published a song in 2006 accusing Diddy (also known as Sean Combs) of knowing who had murdered rap legend The Notorious B.I.G. in 1997.
50 Cent playfully proposed purchasing and managing Revolt Media after Diddy’s resignation from his television network.
On December 3, 2023, he posted an unusual edit featuring the combined faces of Diddy and R. Kelly, set against the backdrop of R. Kelly’s 1998 hit song “Did You Ever Think.
After that post, he left a comment on another post, attaching a screenshot from a New York Times article which raised doubts about whether Combs could weather the recent tide of allegations.
He assured that everything would be alright, as reported by XXL Magazine. Given his vast wealth, if his business associates withdraw their support, he can easily cover it himself. Just look at how quickly he settled the matter with Cassie. Indeed, he’s a true billionaire; he has more than enough resources to handle such situations, so let him handle it!
In March, searches were conducted at Combs’ residences, with DailyMail.com obtaining exclusive images that reveal messy spaces, bedrooms disturbed, and drawers rummaged through. The rapper is currently facing numerous accusations, including charges of sexual and physical misconduct.
As I approached the entrance, it became apparent that a large gate lay shattered, detached from its hinges, and riddled with numerous holes in the door and cracks in the surrounding concrete.
Images reveal numerous doorways seemingly marred, and several disordered bedrooms, filled with assorted items such as garments, bills, and receipts scattered about.
Another video demonstrates the extensive examination of the mogul’s laptops and various gadgets, followed by a glimpse of disorganized kitchen appliances.
Two unnamed officials shared with AP that these raids are connected to a continuous inquiry into human trafficking for sexual purposes. They chose to remain anonymous, as they weren’t permitted to disclose specifics about the ongoing investigation in public.
As an ardent admirer, I’ve learned that NBC has reported some intriguing news: apparently, I’ve discovered that four individuals (three women and a man) have been summoned for discussions with federal authorities in Manhattan. The reason? Allegations of heinous activities, including sex trafficking, sexual misconduct, the unlawful trading of illicit narcotics, and the distribution of firearms. Quite a shocking turn of events!
Interviews with three other subjects are also scheduled, the source claimed.
A man accused of being Diddy’s drug mule was also arrested on Monday as authorities raided the mansions.
On Monday afternoon around 4:30 PM, Brendan Paul, aged 25, was apprehended by the Miami-Dade Police and Homeland Security officials at Opa-Locka Airport in Miami, as law enforcement agencies carried out searches at Sean Combs’ (also known as Diddy) residences.
A legal representative for the woman alleging rape by Diddy in the ’90s expressed hope that this search could mark the start of a sequence of events leading to Mr. Combs being held accountable for his reprehensible actions.
24 hours following the Homeland Security investigation, Aaron Dyer, representing the rapper, finally spoke up and issued a statement to DailyMail.com on behalf of Sean Combs (Puff Daddy or Puffy).
Yesterday, an excessive use of forces akin to military operations took place during the execution of search warrants at Mr. Combs’ homes.
Dyer stated that there’s simply no justification for the overly aggressive behavior and harshness demonstrated by the authorities, nor for how they handled his children and staff members.
‘Mr. Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities,’ he added.
Contrary to what some media reports suggest, neither Mr. Combs nor any of his family members are currently under arrest or facing restrictions on their ability to travel.
In this unexpected attack, coupled with a sophisticated and organized media strategy, there’s been an early and unfair assessment of Mr. Combs, which appears to be little more than a misguided pursuit akin to a witch hunt, fueled by unsubstantiated claims from civil lawsuits, as Dyer further explained.
Last year towards the end, four females – among them being Diddy’s longtime partner – made disturbing legal claims against him, alleging physical abuse and sexual misconduct.
A well-known rapper, wealthy from his work as both a musician and record producer under the Bad Boy Entertainment label, faced accusations involving rape, underage sex-trafficking, assault, and numerous other forms of misconduct.
Previously, Cassie Ventura alleged that he had committed sexual assault by coercing her into intercourse with male escorts in his presence, and she further claimed that he inflicted regular physical harm upon her.
Combs denied the allegations and settled the suit.
As a lifestyle advisor speaking here, let me share a regrettable episode from my past. Back in November of 1991, I was unfortunate enough to find myself in a situation where an allegation was made against me by Joi Dickerson-Neal. She claimed that I had drugged and sexually assaulted her, recorded this heinous act without consent, and then proceeded to share it without her permission. This is a matter I take very seriously, and while I cannot comment on the specifics due to ongoing legal proceedings, I want to emphasize that I vehemently deny these allegations and am committed to cooperating fully with the authorities to bring clarity to this situation.
Later in November 2023, Liza Gardner took legal action for the third time, additionally charging him with acts of both sexual and physical violence.
According to a lawsuit obtained by AP, the alleged incidents also occurred in the early 1990s.
According to Gardner, Aaron Hall compelled her into a sexual encounter and subsequently held her down against her will, forcing intimacy.
Her friend was also allegedly coerced into having sex with Combs and Hall.
In a later visit, Combs attempted to dissuade the women from filing a report about the incident at their residence.
Combs then allegedly choked one of the women until she passed out.
In a surprising turn of events reported initially in early December, there were allegations made against Combs that he had assaulted an unidentified teenage girl who was 17 and a high school student in 2003.
According to reports, the woman was claimed to have been subjected to sexual exploitation (trafficking) and repeatedly sexually assaulted by Combs, who was aged 34, as well as Harve Pierre, the head of his record company at that time.
As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but share my perspective: I’m one of those who’ve joined the ranks against Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones Jr., the music producer who collaborated with Combs on ‘The Love Album: Off the Grid.’ This isn’t about criticism; it’s about upholding what I believe in.
He filed a lawsuit against the rapper claiming he was ordered to recruit sex workers and have sex with them for the star’s pleasure, and has hundreds of hours of video documenting Combs’s ‘serious illegal activity’.
As a die-hard fan who’s followed Jones’ career for years, I was taken aback when I heard the news about his bombshell lawsuit against Diddy. From what I’ve seen and experienced at Jones’ events, it seems like he’s always been striving for legitimacy, and now he’s claiming that his association with Prince Harry and other stars has given him just that. It’s an intriguing twist in the ongoing saga of Jones’ life and career, and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds! TopMob’s latest report has certainly piqued my curiosity.
The court documents filed in the US last month do not suggest any wrongdoing on Prince Harry’s part. He is not a defendant and is named once in the 73-page document. TopMob has asked the Duke of Sussex to comment.
According to Lil Rod’s legal team, it was Diddy’s connections to well-known individuals such as athletes, politicians, artists, musicians, and even a member of the British royal family, Prince Harry, that reportedly attracted guests to the parties which have been accused of being sex-trafficking events. (Court documents filed in New York provide this information.)
At a post-concert gathering that they organized to express gratitude for the participants in the ‘Concert for Diana’ held at Wembley Stadium in 2007, Princes William and Harry crossed paths with P Diddy and Kanye West. Interestingly, Prince Charles, also known as The Prince of Wales, is not mentioned in court records related to this event. It remains uncertain if Prince Harry has met the rapper more than once since then.
According to Jones, it is alleged that underage girls and individuals working in the sex industry attended the star’s house parties, and he asserts that he witnessed the star secretly drugging their drinks on such occasions.
He claims that he was drugged back in February the previous year. When he regained consciousness, he found himself disoriented, naked, and in a state of confusion, sharing his bed with Combs and two sex workers. He felt a strong apprehension, suspecting he might have been a victim of sexual assault.
In simpler terms, a part of Diddy’s team was responsible for giving money to several sex workers in cash. However, Jones assertively states that Yung Miami, Jade, and Daphne Joy were not just ordinary staff members; they were allegedly employed as sex workers for Diddy and were paid a monthly salary through wire transfer.
Combs has denied all the allegations against him, saying ‘enough is enough’.
In a statement issued in December, it was made unequivocally clear that I am innocent of all the horrific accusations. I stand firm in defending my reputation, my loved ones, and the truth.
Moreover, Jones’s legal team has been quite critical of the $30 million lawsuit directed towards Combs, Justin, Ethiopia Habtemariam, their respective employers in the record industry, and the companies they were associated with.
Lawyer Shawn Holley branded ‘Lil Rod’ as merely a dishonest individual, motivated primarily by financial gain.
