50 Cent gets a green light to seize a former employee’s home, then gets back to mocking Diddy
Mess with 50 Cent and he might come for your house — even if it takes him a few years to do it.
Last week, a federal judge granted approval for the rapper’s spirits company, Sire Spirits, to take possession of Mitchell Green’s Connecticut home as part-payment for a $7-million debt owed. This decision was made following the lifting of an automatic stay by a bankruptcy judge, which had previously prevented the transfer of the property.

A photographer under Gloria Allred’s representation is filing a lawsuit against 50 Cent, claiming he was assaulted by being hit with an SUV’s door. It appears the rapper-businessman finds this situation amusing.
50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson III, along with his legal team, spent around four and a half years to successfully achieve this, starting from the time Green admitted to embezzlement via a kickback scheme involving wholesalers, up until last week when the stay on the house was lifted.
Branson Cognac and Chemin du Roi Champagne, both brands under Jackson’s ownership, are handled by Sire Spirits. Green confessed in February 2020 that he had been increasing prices and receiving secret payments, disguised as “agency fees,” according to the New York Post reports from 2022 and 2023.
On September 1, 2021, Sire Spirits submitted a petition to the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, seeking confirmation of an arbitration agreement that specified approximately $3.5 million in damages. This was according to court documents examined by The Times.
From 2018 up until 2020, Green was secretly misappropriating funds amounting to $2.2 million. This activity came to light when someone tried to extort him over these kickbacks. As per AllHipHop’s report, it was then that Green confessed his actions to his employer. Subsequently, Sire Spirits dismissed him and initiated arbitration, which resulted in a ruling in Sire’s favor. With legal costs and attorney fees included, the final judgment in November 2022 totaled approximately $6.3 million.

At Combs’ federal sex trafficking trial in Manhattan, Cudi stated that, during a brief period, he and Cassie were dating. He also shared that he took her to a hotel as an effort to remove her from the chaotic situation involving Combs.
By March 2023, the former businessman who had fallen from grace had filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection, and during this ongoing process, the attorneys of Sire Spirits managed to secure a lien on Green’s home in Westport, Connecticut, as indicated by court records.
Green’s legal representatives have consistently informed the court about the current condition of his property, emphasizing that since Green is still under bankruptcy proceedings, an automatic stay is in effect to protect his home. However, Sire’s lawyers recently petitioned the bankruptcy judge to remove this stay, arguing that due to the large amount owed by Green in the judgment against him, he has no remaining equity in the property and thus it should not be included in the liquidation process.
The judge agreed and lifted the stay.
In simple terms, the house in Connecticut had its value estimated at $1 million towards the end of April. This amount is expected to offset the court ruling (judgment) along with the interest that accumulated before and after the judgment, which currently adds up to approximately $7 million.

Music
Following Christian “King” Combs being mentioned by 50 Cent in a critical song by Diddy’s son, 50 Cent made fun of young Combs and brought up past accusations involving him and his father once more.
Even though Jackson has brought up Branson Cognac on social media lately, he hasn’t commented about the recent legal victory. In the past week, the rapper has been amusing himself by playfully criticizing Sean “Diddy” Combs, also known as “Puffy,” who is currently embroiled in a federal trial for sex trafficking and conspiracy charges. Witnesses have been testifying against him in this case.
I was taken aback when I read about PUFFY having a gun, and now hearing Capricorn Clark’s testimony in court about his alleged threat towards me. I can’t help but feel uneasy about the situation, and I shared this on social media yesterday,” Jackson wrote Tuesday.
The entrepreneur and troublemaker exclaimed, ‘Gee whiz, little Diddy seems determined to do me in!’ In a subsequent post, he joked, ‘I’ve got to keep a low profile; I think I’ll sneak off to the playoff game tonight, chuckling.’ He shared an amusing image of himself looking terrified.
The New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers should be tipping off right about now.
