Here are 5 shows to stream for all the cozy holiday vibes on Thanksgiving Day.
Friends – season 6, episode 9: “The One Where Ross Got High”
Many people consider “Friends” to be their all-time favorite series, and among its standout episodes are the numerous Thanksgiving-themed ones. The episode titled “The One Where Ross Got High” is often hailed as the best of these episodes due to several reasons. All the main characters are present, including Jack and Judy Geller, who always enhance the humor in any episode they appear in. This particular episode focuses on Chandler trying his best, albeit awkwardly, to gain their approval since they are unaware that he is dating their daughter Monica. Ross and Joey make an appearance with the intention of leaving early to join a party with Joey’s roommate, Janine, and her friends. However, what makes this episode truly memorable is Rachel’s disastrous attempt at making an English trifle recipe, and Phoebe sharing her naughty dreams involving Jack and Jacques Cousteau.
There are 10 Friends Thanksgiving episodes in all, you can watch them on Max.
Gilmore Girls – season 3, episode 9: “A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving”
Every year, the Gilmore Girls celebrate Thanksgiving in their unique way. This time around, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel) find themselves booked solid with four different events; it’s going to be quite a challenge for them to manage! They received invitations for meals with Lane (Keiko Agena), Sookie (Melissa McCarthy), Luke (Scott Patterson), and an elegant gathering with Emily (Kelly Bishop) and Richard (Edward Herrmann). Additionally, this episode showcases Rory’s difficulties with public displays of affection with her new boyfriend Jess (Milo Ventimiglia), while Lane develops a relationship with bandmate Dave Rygalski (Adam Brody). Sookie allows Jackson (Jackson Douglas) to deep-fry the turkey, an action she soon regrets. To add more chaos, Kirk acquires a new cat, aptly named Kirk, and as usual, there’s plenty of drama involved.
The show “Gilmore Girls” has a single authentic Thanksgiving episode, however, two others provide warm and inviting autumn feels. These are “A Year in the Life: Fall,” from season 1, and “They Shoot Gilmores, Don’t They?” from season 3. If you haven’t seen it already, catch up on all the Gilmore Girls episodes available on Netflix.
