The character I find myself rooting for the most is Chiyo Sakura. Despite her countless failed attempts at catching Umetaro Nozaki’s eye, now that she’s working as his assistant on his shōjo manga, I can’t help but feel hopeful that they might finally get closer.

Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun is a joyous journey through the ups and downs of high school life, love, and friendships. Unfortunately, the first season concludes with another classic mix-up when it seems like Nozaki misunderstood Sakura’s words about loving fireworks instead of her confession of feelings; however, fans are left pondering if perhaps he might have heard her after all!
