5 of the most famous combat sports WAGs
In my humble opinion, each of these remarkable women has carved out a unique niche for themselves not only as partners but also as influential figures in their respective combat sports communities.
In the realm of competitive fighting sports, numerous luminaries shine brightly. Ranging from boxing to mixed martial arts, there’s an abundance of athletes who have gained widespread recognition. Frequently adorning their muscular arms are their significant others, who can sometimes garner fame within the combat sports fraternity. These companions are commonly known as “WAGs”, a term derived from the acronym for wives and girlfriends, and this label is predominantly used in the sports world. Here’s a list of five most renowned WAGs in the combat sports sphere.
5. Gallienne Nabila
Nabila Gallienne is currently dating Floyd Mayweather, a renowned boxer who has held championship titles across five different weight divisions. Over time, Mayweather has been known to show off his wealth, which encompasses luxury cars, multiple homes, and lavish shopping sprees. Despite having four children and previous relationships, Mayweather has never tied the knot.
Floyd Mayweather is currently in a stable relationship with Nabila, who is both a model and an entrepreneur. Known for her independence, Nabila has established herself as an individual of significance. Reports suggest that Mayweather and Nabila have been dating intermittently since 2019. The couple is often seen together, enjoying trips, shopping excursions, and attending events as a pair.
As I write this, I find myself reflecting on the remarkable journey of Nabila, a woman born on the 3rd of October, 1997, who’s now 26 years old and making waves in various fields. Beyond her successful modelling career, she’s the driving force behind a women’s empowerment non-profit organization. She’s even ventured into fashion design, creating her own line of stylish swimwear. Acting is another passion she nurtures.
On Instagram, Nabila boasts a following of 1.6 million people. Given Mayweather’s frequent limelight exposure, it’s not uncommon for Nabila to be associated with him as well. For at least half a decade now, she has been a presence in the combat sports world, making her one of the more recognized partners (WAG) within this sporting sphere.
4. Alessa Quizon
Alessa Quizon is a recent addition to the given list, being the spouse of the former UFC featherweight champion and current BMF titleholder, Max Holloway. They tied the knot on April 16, 2022. Although their past relationship details are not fully disclosed, they made their relationship Instagram official in February 2020. Notably, prior to this union, Holloway was married from 2012 to 2017 with one child. With the marriage, Quizon also became the stepmother to Holloway’s son, Rush.
Quizon hails from a lineage of skilled surfers; she took to the waves as young as four years old. Over time, she transitioned into competitive professional surfing. At times, Quizon and Holloway can be seen riding the same waves.
As a devoted fan, I’m frequently spotted ringside at Holloway’s battles, right next to Rush. On social media platforms, I regularly exchange heartwarming posts with Holloway, not only about our fights but also about our families. My personal Instagram account, boasting over 722,000 followers, is a testament to my passions – surfing and my special bond with Holloway. I frequently share content that reflects these aspects of my life.
3. Jolie Poirier
Dustin Poirier is a previous UFC lightweight interim titleholder who is adored and respected worldwide among mixed martial artists. His wife, Jolie Poirier, is well-known in the combat sports community as she has stood by him since their school days. They initially met in middle school before getting married in 2009. In August 2016, they became parents to Parker Noelle, their only child.
The UFC fighter considers his wife as his rock of support, going as far as acknowledging that she helps him in both business ventures and fights. Frequently, Jolie Poirier can be spotted rooting for Dustin during matches, and she regularly shares encouraging posts on her social media platforms. The couple jointly established a charitable organization, “The Good Fight Foundation”.
Jolie Poirier serves as both vice-president and director for a non-profit organization. On Instagram, Poirier boasts an impressive following of 156,000 people. Known for her contributions in combat sports and support of her spouse, Poirier is widely recognized as one of the well-known partners (WAGs) in the combat sports community.
2. Paris Fury
The Fury family stands out prominently in today’s boxing scene, with Tyson Fury being a key figure, having held numerous heavyweight world titles throughout his career. His wife, Paris, has been a steadfast companion on this journey since their marriage in 2008. Together, they have expanded their family to include seven children – four sons and three daughters.
Paris is frequently spotted with her spouse before and after his bouts, and typically attends these events in the audience, showing support and enthusiasm for him. Aside from being a devoted spectator, Paris is also an accomplished author. Her debut book, titled “Love and Fury: The Magic and Mayhem of Life with Tyson“, was published in October 2021. Subsequently, her second book, “How Does She Do It? The Kids, Tyson & Me“, hit the shelves in September 2023. There’s a possibility that she may publish a third book in the future.
On Instagram, Paris boasts over 1.8 million followers. Her bio states, “I’m the mom of 7 wonderful children, married to a towering husband, and part of a large family that I cherish deeply.” The Fury clan is featured in a Netflix docuseries titled, “Life With The Furys“, which provides insights into their family dynamics and navigating Fury’s boxing career.
1. Dee Devlin
Dee Devlin is widely recognized as one of the most prominent partners in the realm of combat sports due to her connection with her partner. To elaborate, Dee Devlin is the fiancée of the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, Conor McGregor. They’ve been together since 2008 and have four children.
