As a seasoned gamer and DC Universe aficionado, I must say that the announcement of a Green Lantern series has sent a wave of excitement coursing through me! With my fingers crossed and heart pounding with anticipation, I eagerly await the unveiling of this new chapter in the DC Universe.
In a recent announcement, DC Studios and Warner Bros. Discovery unveiled plans for a Green Lantern series within the DC Universe. Previously, there was an intended Green Lantern series for the old DC film universe, but it never materialized. However, the upcoming franchise will feature a series called Lanterns, and currently, the studio is working on casting for this new production.
There’s still a lot we don’t know about it, but given its reputation as DC Comics’ most epic space saga, Green Lantern holds immense possibilities. Be it on our planet or across various universes, there seems to be no end to the reach of the Green Lantern Corps.
Guy Gardner

Much like a leader within the Corps, as well as the Justice League, Stewart’s persona and costume style make him easily identifiable within the Corps and an excellent choice to be part of any Green Lantern-related endeavor.
The upcoming show is likely to include John Stewart as a novice Green Lantern, potentially learning from an experienced and equally renowned Green Lantern character. This certainly sounds promising! Here’s hoping Stewart will have a significant part in the series, and possibly contribute more to the DC Universe in the future.
Abin Sur
Prior to Hal Jordan assuming the role of Green Lantern, Abin Sur served as the guardian of space sector 2814. Known for his exceptional skills and dedication, Abin Sur was a Lantern whose footsteps were difficult to fill. In a relatively brief span within the DC Universe, he played a crucial role that significantly impacted it.
Abin Sur carries significant value due to numerous adversaries of Green Lantern having crossed paths with him. Not only is he a beacon of excellence within the DC Universe, but also for fans. It’s high time that more people become familiar with his name, and featuring him in the upcoming HBO series would help spread awareness.
Hal Jordan
Hal Jordan, undeniably, is known as The Green Lantern. Although Alan Scott was the initial Green Lantern, it’s Hal who has become synonymous with the role. His tales, adversaries, appearance, and character make him one of the finest superheroes ever created, and a vital and indispensable element within the Green Lantern legend.
Reports indicate that Josh Brolin and Matthew McConaughey have been offered roles, suggesting they may play key Green Lantern characters in the upcoming series. It appears one will take on the role of a seasoned Lantern (with Brolin potentially being this veteran), while Stewart might portray the rookie Lantern. This should lead to an intriguing interpretation of the character, and we’re eagerly anticipating its debut!
Every Green Lantern contributes a unique element. With an endless array of possibilities, it appears as though an inexhaustible number of Lanterns could captivate fans all over again.
