Brisbane’s 4BC breakfast show is getting a revamp following Peter Fegan’s recent exit. He had hosted the popular program for just over a year.
Sofie Formica, who currently hosts the afternoon show, and Dean Miller, previously with Triple M, will be the new hosts of the breakfast show.
When ratings began to drop, Luke Bradnam, the weekend weatherman for Channel Nine in Queensland, filled in for Fegan on a temporary basis three weeks ago.
Breakfast with Dean and Sofie, meanwhile, will make its debut on January 19.
Fegan was let go in October after his radio show received a very low 3.6 percent of the listening audience, according to the latest ratings.
The station, owned by Nine, is trying to regain listeners during the crucial morning timeslot by sticking with a talkback show hosted by the popular and well-established duo, Miller and Formica.

Miller used to host the breakfast show on Triple M 104.5 and is well-known in his hometown of Brisbane.
He’s become a familiar sight on television, having hosted shows like Creek to Coast, The Great South East, and Queensland Weekender on Channel Seven.
It comes after Fegan spoke to The Australian last week about his appalling ratings performance.
He explained it was difficult to put into words, but he felt he’d disappointed a lot of people – his audience, colleagues, manager, and the radio station itself. He shared this just weeks after being let go from 4BC.
He added that it was deeply upsetting and a horrible feeling, as he always strives to not disappoint people, and he still carries that guilt with him.
I’ve always dreamed of hosting a radio show on 4BC, and I’m incredibly proud and thankful to have had the chance to do it.
In September 2024, Fegan became the new host of the breakfast show, taking over from Laurel Edwards, Gary Clare, and Mark Hine.
He came to the role after hosting 4BC Weekends.

Listeners were surprised when Edwards, Clare, and Hine were let go, especially so soon after starting in 2022. The station changed its morning show to play classic hits instead.
They achieved a strong start on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, capturing 11.8% of the audience and ranking third overall.
But Edwards, Clare and Hine’s ratings had been in terminal decline before their departure.
The show performed very poorly in the latest ratings, finishing last and attracting only 4.3% of the audience.
