41-Year-Old SNL Star’s Miracle Baby Announcement After Fertility Struggle

Comedian Cecily Strong, well-known from Saturday Night Live, recently welcomed her first baby with partner Jack, following years of challenges in their fertility journey.

On April 2, 2025, the beloved comedian who underwent In Vitro Fertilization welcomed a baby girl into the world.

Strong shared the happy news with fans via Instagram on Thursday, April 10.

She shared a picture featuring her daughter sleeping in a cradle, with her pet dog on one side and Cecily, visibly tired, resting on a bed in the background.

‘I, along with my girls, have spent a week and a day with our adorable wriggly baby girl. Now, I can identify all her tiny twitches and movements that I used to feel from the other side of me. It’s amazing to be able to point out, “Just as I said before!”‘ (her lengthy caption started).

She mimics Robert De Niro expressions and makes snorting sounds when she’s extremely focused on lifting weights. In about a week, she’ll be stronger than me.

Cecily went on saying, “The sounds she makes – squeaks and sighs – are the most delightful noises I’ve ever heard on this planet. When she was born, her head was full of dark hair that made me shout ‘whoo hoo!’ with joy as I pushed.

Ever since then, I’ve been excitedly exclaiming ‘Yippee!’ each day, as she’s simply flawless, and I feel like I hit the jackpot,” the SNL star enthusiastically expressed.

The actress from Shmigadoon expressed gratitude to the healthcare team who helped her achieve motherhood.

The delivery was surprisingly effortless, thanks to the wonderful epidural, but I soon realized that recovery would be necessary, as if a skilled martial artist from ‘White Lotus’ had delivered a series of powerful blows to my abdomen.

Afterward, Cecily expressed the realization that she wouldn’t immediately resume riding her Peloton, understanding instead the need for healing time. She referred to the day her daughter was born as “A Day That Changed the World Forever.

The enamored new mother expressed, ‘I’m so deeply in love and so exhausted that it feels like a magnificent dream, yet it’s all truly happening.’

She continued to commend her partner Jack, who she’s been seeing since their encounter at the 2019 Christmas Party, and spent the night together afterward.

John is more than just an ideal father or partner; he’s a superb diaper changer, swaddler, bottle washer, breakfast cook, medicine picker-upper, tech support, Baby Brezza operator, dog cuddler, breastfeeding and pumping assistant, and he’s currently wearing the baby while listening to classical music for babies. Plus, in the hospital, he even fed me delicious crispy rice from Blue Ribbon Sushi. He truly exceeds my expectations in every way!

Apologizing for her long, tangled sentences, she’s found herself mistakenly referring to the pediatrician as a veterinarian about 35 times now. Yet, her affection for you, ESM, remains unchanged.

In the month of November 2024, Cecily revealed that she was expecting a child, approximately eleven months following their engagement in December 2023 with Jack.

Having conceived through IVF, Cecily has spent a lot of time in doctor’s waiting rooms and offices.

In various instances throughout my life, I’ve spent time in numerous waiting rooms, often accompanied by other ladies, as she expressed on Instagram upon announcing her pregnancy.

‘From being filled with fear and isolation at a California clinic years ago, to experiencing frustration and apprehension in New York fertility clinics over the past couple of years, to chattering excitedly and wishing everyone luck, much like Forrest Gump on the day of my transfer.’

Cecily previously wrote about how she and Jack met in her 2020 memoir This Will All Be Over Soon.

She mentioned that she encountered Jack during a holiday gathering back in December 2019; however, it happened when things were less than ideal for her because she had just lost her beloved cousin Owen not long before.

Initially, she believed finding a new person would be incredibly challenging given the profound loss of someone she deeply cherished. She understood that this potential individual would need to be understanding and accommodating.

But Jack ended up being exactly as supportive as Cecily needed him to be at that difficult time.

She went on saying, “I need time to mourn, and it’s best if we don’t attempt anything during that period.

However, mourning for Owen was unlike anything I had felt before, and I pledged to both Owen and myself to keep that deep-seated love present amidst the sorrow.

In her words, “That evening, following their conversation, she remarked, ‘I believe you were a present sent to me by Owen.’ It’s comforting for me to ponder that idea.

Among other things, Cecily has become particularly renowned for her tenure as a Saturday Night Live (SNL) cast member spanning from 2012 to 2022, making her the female cast member with the longest run in the show’s history.

After leaving, she teamed up with Keegan-Michael Key for the Apple TV+ show Schmigadoon, a comedy that mimicked traditional musical movies.

Apple confirmed in January that the series would not be renewed for a third season, but its creators are currently seeking to find another network or streaming service to keep the show running.
