Insanity or max grinding? Meet the first Dota 2 player in history to play 40,000 games.
Did you realize that playing Dota 2 for approximately 40,000 games, given an average of 40 minutes per game, amounts to over 26,666.67 hours? However, let’s keep things realistic. Suppose you play the game just 8 hours a day. That equates to 3,333.33 days or about 9.13 years! Well done! You’ve officially completed the tutorial!
Fortunately, this feat isn’t yours, but AndreyIMMERSION‘s, a renowned streamer from Russia. What makes this remarkable isn’t the number of hours played, but rather that he never rose above the lowest rank attainable in Dota 2. Yes, you read it correctly. Despite playing more than most professional Dota 2 players, Andrey managed to stay at the rank of “Herald II,” even falling short of reaching “Guardian.”

Who is AndreyIMMERSION?
Information about the English record holder for playing 40,000 games of Dota 2 is scarce. According to an older article from Cybersport.ru, this individual left military service and is now 39 years old. To afford his first computer, he accumulated savings by recycling plastic bottles. His dedication led him to the online world, where he discovered a newfound passion for streaming.
In the not-so-distant past, life was a labyrinth for me, yours truly Andrey. Despite being recognized in the streaming world, I’ve always kept my social media presence minimal, focusing mainly on my channels. An interview unveiled a venture of mine – opening a LAN center. Unfortunately, that endeavor didn’t flourish as planned, forcing me to shutter its doors.
However, the funds saved from that experience and a generous push from a fellow content creator named etosereGGa allowed me to invest in a top-tier streaming PC. That’s when my journey truly took off.
AndreyIMMERSION’s live streams typically run between eight and twelve hours, but on one occasion, his first stream lasted an impressive 30 hours. It was etosereGGa who suggested ending the stream due to concerns about Andrey’s health. There was also a time when he pledged to host a Q&A stream for a continuous 48 hours. This was in celebration of reaching his 30,000th game, and at that time, he was known as “Herald II” or had MMR points ranging from 154 to 307.

Are there other players close to 40,000 games of Dota 2?
On DOTABUFF.com, it’s reported that DegyIIIka, a high-ranking “Archon V” player with approximately 38,000 matches under his belt, follows closely behind AndreyIMMERSION. Yet, the site doesn’t account for turbo and certain lobby games in its count, suggesting he may actually be even closer.

Reddit users have started suggesting that Valve should reward AndreyIMMERSION with something special once he hits 50,000 subscribers, which could happen within about a year and a half at his current rate. However, it’s uncertain if this will actually take place as there’s no history of the company acknowledging frequent players in this way.
No need to fret, AndreyIMMERSION! We’ve taken notice of you and appreciate your worth. You can expect further updates about his Dota 2 experience on our platform. Perhaps one day we’ll manage to secure an interview with him and encourage him to engage more on our X page through social media!
